Paolo Bettini (born 1 April 1974 in Cecina, Tuscany, Cecina, Province of Livorno, Livorno, Tuscany) is an Italian former champion road racing cyclist, and the former coach of the Italian national cycling team. Considered the best classic cycle races, classics specialist of his generation, and probably one of the strongest of all times, he won gold medals in the 2004 Athens Olympics road race and in the 2006 UCI Road World Championships, 2006 and 2007 UCI Road World Championships – Men's road race, 2007 World Road Race Championships. Carlos Bettini
Carlos Antonio Bautista Bettini Francese is an Argentinian businessman, politician, and diplomat who was the Argentinian ambassador to Spain and Andorra. In his youth he was a close friend of Nestor Kirchner and Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, both of whom appointed him to the ambassadorship during their terms as president of Argentina. His appointment to this position was a matter of considerable controversy owing to his background as a lobbyist for Spanish businesses in Argentina. Bettini, who was a member of the Montoneros, a militant left-wing group of the 1960s and 70s, has been accused to be the perpetrator of a famous murder in 1976. More recently, his activities on behalf of Spanish interests have caused him to face charges of corruption and bribery. Gianni Bettini (1860, Novara – 27 February 1938, San Remo) was a gentleman inventor and a pioneer audiophile who invented several phonograph improvements. He is best known for having made the first (and in some cases only) recordings of the voices of several very famous singers and other celebrities of the 1890s. Few of these recordings have survived. Life and career Bettini was born in Novara, Italy. In the 1890s he was a New York socialite, living in the swanky Central Park South neighborhood now in the center of Midtown on the edge of the Theater District. Sergio Bettini
Sergio Bettini (Quistello, 9 September 1905 - Padua, 12 December 1986) was an Italian art historian. Biography He was born in Quistello, in the province of Mantua and graduated in 1929 in Florence, with a thesis on Jacopo Bassano (supervisor Giuseppe Fiocco). After the first studies dedicated to modern art he devoted himself to the study of Byzantine art, with long stays and trips abroad (Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey). The fruit of these years of study and exploration, together with the first teaching and university assistantships, are the Byzantine art history manuals published from 1937 to 1944 for the Florentine publishing house NEMI. In 1939 he became director of the Civic Museum of Padua, while in 1942 he won the chair of Christian Archeology. He taught at the University of Padua, University of Catania, and then again in Padua (since 1947). Antonio Bettini
Antonio Bettini (13 June 1396 – 22 October 1487) was an Italian clergyman, diplomat and writer. Bettini was born in Siena in 1396. He joined the convent of San Girolamo in Siena in 1439 and worked closely with Pope Pius II. Pius made Bettini bishop of Foligno in 1461. For Pope Sixtus IV, Bettini may have travelled to France (1474) and Germany (1481). He retired to his original convent in Siena in 1486 and died a year later. Bettini was revered by later biographers and sometimes referred to as "''Beato''" (Blessed) (a step toward canonization), but this designation was never church-sanctioned. Bettini was known as a prolific writer. His ''Monte Santo di Dio'' (1477) described how one could use science and virtue to reach closer to God. He is a professor of classical philology at the University of Siena and director of Siena's Centre for the Study of Anthropology and the Ancient World.
