In 1946, the Bulldogs finished in third place in the division, winning five games, losing four and tying one. In 1947, they finished in first place with an 8-1 record and beat the Paterson Panthers in the league's championship game 23-7. In 1948, the Bulldogs went 4-5-1, finishing fifth in the league. Bethlehem is a city in Northampton and Lehigh Counties in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2020 census, Bethlehem had a total population of 75,781. Of this, 55,639 were in Northampton County and 19,343 were in Lehigh County. It is Pennsylvania's seventh most populous city. The city is located along the Lehigh River, a tributary of the Delaware River. The American Association (AA) was a professional American football minor league based in New York City. Founded in 1936 with teams in New York and New Jersey, the AA extended its reach to Providence, Rhode Island prior to the onset of World War II.
