Eberhard Bethge
Eberhard Bethge (August 28, 1909 – March 18, 2000) was a German theologian and pastor, best known for being the close friend and biographer of the theologian and anti-Nazi Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Early life Bethge was born in Rosenau (Brandenburg), Warchau, Landkreis Jerichow II, Province of Saxony, the Kingdom of Prussia, near Magdeburg, on August 29, 1909. He attended several universities, as is customary for theology students in Germany, before attending the underground Szczecin-Zdroje, Finkenwalde Seminary in Province of Pomerania (1815–1945), Pomerania where Bonhoeffer taught in the name of Germany's Confessing Church (part of the anti-Nazi resistance). Bethge became Bonhoeffer's close friend and confidant. With the help of pietist congregations within the Prussian Union of churches, old-Prussian Ecclesiastical Province of Pomerania the seminary would be relocated twice after Nazi-imposed closures. Raimund Bethge
Raimund Bethge (born 7 July 1947 in Schwedt, Brandenburg) is an East Germany, East German bobsledder who competed in the late 1970s. He took up the sport in 1975. He won a complete set of medals at the FIBT World Championships with a gold in four-man (FIBT World Championships 1977, 1977), a silver in two-man (FIBT World Championships 1978, 1978, and a bronze in four-man (1978). He also took a silver in the Bobsleigh and Skeleton European Championship, European Championships in 1978 in the four-man event. Bethge also competed at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, finishing fourth in the Bobsleigh at the 1976 Winter Olympics – Four-man, four-man event and seventh in the Bobsleigh at the 1976 Winter Olympics – Two-man, two-man event.
