Bethania, North Carolina
Bethania is the oldest municipality in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States, and was most recently incorporated in 1995, upon the reactivation of the original 1838/1839 town charter. In 2009, Bethania celebrated the 250th anniversary of its establishment in 1759. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 341. History The first planned Moravian settlement in North Carolina, Bethania exists as the only remaining independent, continuously active Moravian village in the southern United States, and is the only known existing Germanic-type linear agricultural village in the South. The Bethania National Historic Landmark district is the largest such district in Forsyth County. Bethania Hospital ( ur, ) is located in Sialkot, Pakistan. It is a medical facility owned by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore. The hospital treats 60,000 patients a year, 5,000 of which are TB patients. It has a staff of 130 and occupies an area of 300,000 sq. ft. Bethania Almánzar Sosa (born February 11, 1987, in Bonao) is a female beach volleyball and volleyball player from the Dominican Republic. She twice won the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit 2007, partnering Margarita Suero. She played the 2023 Beach Volleyball World Championships and won the silver medal in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games playing with Julibeth Payano. Career Almánzar played with the club Los Prados from 2004 to 2006, winning the 2005 Dominican Metropolitan League with this club. Bethania is an Independent chapel in Phillip Street, Mountain Ash, Glamorgan, Wales. Services at Bethania are conducted in the Welsh language. Early history The church began in the form of a Sunday school built in 1850, although earlier meetings had been held at the home of one Daniel Rowlands, which later became the Glancynon Inn. The first chapel was built in 1854 at a cost of £320, but became too small as a result of the religious revival of 1859. A new chapel was therefore built at a cost of £950 with seating for 750. This coincided with the sinking of the Deep Duffryn Colliery in 1855, which led to a large influx of people into the area. Bethania is a suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bethania had a population of 5,385 people. Geography Bethania lies south of the Logan River. The lower lying areas near the river occasionally suffer floods. Bethania is situated on the main Beenleigh railway line and the suburb is served by Bethania railway station (). Beaudesert railway line branches from the South Coast railway line just south of the Bethania railway station at () and runs to Beaudesert. It has been out of commission since August 2004. Bethania Chapel, Dowlais
Bethania, Dowlais was a Welsh Independent, or Congregationalist, chapel in South Street, Dowlais, near Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. The cause was established in 1824 and the chapel rebuilt on several occasions in the nineteenth century. The present chapel dates from 1895 but was vastly enlarged and re-modelled in 1910. The building is Grade II listed. Bethania's origins were as an offshoot of the original Congregationalist chapel at Merthyr, Ynysgau. There was a Congrgationalist tradition at Dowlais before the growth of an industrial community there and the family of Gwernllwynisaf (one of the farms) were prominent in the cause at Ynysgau. One of the early leaders was Methusalem Jones (1769–1839), but following disagreements he withdrew and concentrated on leading the cause at Bethesda, which together with Ynysgau had been instrumental in establishing Bethania.
