Bethan Knights is a British-American long-distance runner. University of Cal Berkeley highlights In 2014, Bethan Knights ran in the Pac-12 Conference. Her 5th place at Pre-NCAA on October 18, 2014 was the highest of any Pac-12 runner. Knights achieved All Conference (3rd place), All Region (4th place), and All American honors (25th place) in her California Golden Bears Cross country freshman campaign. In 2015, Knights opened her outdoor campaign by winning Cal Open 1500m in 4:21. She did not score in the 1500 m against Stanford University in their dual big meet but ran a pb in 4:19.60. The 2 mile (10,560 feet or 3,218.688 metres) is a historic running distance. Like the mile run, it is still contested at some invitational meets due its historical chronology in the United States and United Kingdom. It has been largely superseded by the 3000 m (approximately 1.864 miles) and 5000 m, and by the 3200 m in NFHS American high school competitions. The IAAF no longer keeps official world records for this distance; they are called world best instead. CIF California State Meet
The CIF California State Meet is the annual championship track and field meet for the California Interscholastic Federation. The meet was started in 1915 for boys and 1974 for girls. Every athlete in every high school in California has a direct qualification path that can reach the state meet (except for five schools that compete in Nevada). In recent years a minimum of 27 athletes in each event reach this final meet of the official track and field season. Beyond those 27 who can qualify by placing in their individual section finals, "at-large" standards have been established to allow additional competitors to make the field.
