Beth Quist
Beth Quist, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer, began playing piano at age 2. She has a 4-octave soprano voice, and plays piano, keyboards, santour (hammered dulcimer), dumbek, guitar, flute, and various other instruments. Her music combines influences from the Balkans, the Middle East, and India along with her Western upbringing. Based in USA, she performs solo, with Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra, and with Ishwish. She recently finished a 2+ year contract with Cirque du Soleil. In years past she has made guest appearances with Kitaro, the Geoffrey Castle Band (formerly known as Guarneri Underground), and Children of the Revolution. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Cirque du Soleil (, ; "Circus of the Sun" or "Sun Circus") is a Canadian entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world. Robert Keith McFerrin Jr. (born March 11, 1950) is an American folk and jazz singer. He is known for his vocal techniques, such as singing fluidly but with quick and considerable jumps in pitch—for example, sustaining a melody while also rapidly alternating with arpeggios and harmonies—as well as scat singing, polyphonic overtone singing, and improvisational vocal percussion.
