Betalghat is a small town and tehsil in Nainital district, Uttarakhand, India. As of 2011, it had a total population of 21265 spread over 4357 households. Most people of the village speak Kumaoni language and Hindi. There is a riverside area in Betalghat along the Kosi River, a post office, and a marketplace. Malli Seti
Malli Sethi is a gramm panchayat on the banks of the Kosi River in the Betalghat Tehsil of Nainital district in Uttarakhand, India. It is located about 5 km from Betalghat. Nowadays, the village is most noted for the Malli Sethi bridge over the Kosi River. Kosi River, also known as Koshi or Kaushiki, is a tributary of the Ramganga River. It is an important river in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Nainital district is a district in Kumaon division which is a part of Uttarakhand state in India. The headquarters is at Nainital. Kumaoni Language
Kumaoni (; ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by over two million people of the Kumaon region of the state of Uttarakhand in northern India and parts of Doti region in Western Nepal. As per 1961 survey there were 1,030,254 Kumaoni speakers in India. The number of speakers increased to 2.2 million in 2011. Kumaoni is not endangered but UNESCO's ''Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger'' designates it as a language in the ''unsafe'' category, meaning it requires consistent conservation efforts. Kathgodam
Kathgodam is a suburb of Haldwani city in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state of India. It used to be a part of the twin township of Haldwani-Kathgodam, and is immediately north of Haldwani. It is one of the important collection centres for forest products obtained from Kumaon Himalayas.
