Beta Alpha Psi () is an international honor society for accounting, finance and information systems students attending universities accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or the European Quality Improvement System. It was founded on February 12, 1919, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, in the United States. The organization has over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members worldwide. Crimson
Crimson is a rich, deep red color, inclining to purple. It originally meant the color of the kermes dye produced from a scale insect, ''Kermes vermilio'', but the name is now sometimes also used as a generic term for slightly bluish-red colors that are between red and rose. It is the national color of Nepal. History Crimson (NR4) is produced using the dried bodies of a scale insect, ''Kermes'', which were gathered commercially in Mediterranean countries, where they live on the kermes oak, and sold throughout Europe. Kermes dyes have been found in burial wrappings in Anglo-Scandinavian York. The American Accounting Association (AAA) promotes accounting education, research and practice. Founded in 1916 as the American Association of University Instructors in Accounting, its present name was adopted in 1936. William Andrew Paton
William Andrew Paton (July 19, 1889 – April 26, 1991) was an American accountancy scholar, known as founder of the American Accounting Association in 1916, and was founder and first editor of its flagship journal ''The Accounting Review''. Biography Paton was born near Calumet, Michigan to Andrew Patton, teacher and superintendent of the local school system, and Mary Nowlin Paton, also teacher. The family settled on a farm, engaging Patton with farm work in his youth. Paton studied at the University of Michigan, where he obtained his AB and PhD in economics in 1917. In 1927, he obtained his Certified Public Accountant license for the State of Michigan. After graduation Paton started his academic career at the University of Michigan in 1914. The Accounting Hall of Fame is an award "recognizing accountants who are making or have made a significant contribution to the advancement of accounting" since the beginning of the 20th century. Inductees are from both accounting academia and practice. Since its inception in 1950 at The Ohio State University, it has honored 110 influential accounting professors, professional practitioners, and government and business accountants from the United States and other countries. Yuji Ijiri
Yuji Ijiri ( ja, 井尻 雄士, translit=Ijiri Yūji) (24 February 1935 – 18 January 2017) was a Japanese economist, accounting researcher and educator. He was the Robert M. Trueblood University Professor of Accounting and Economics at Carnegie Mellon University until his retirement on June 30, 2011. At the age of 21 he became a Certified Public Accountant in Japan, and remains the youngest person to do so. He died of natural causes on 18 January 2017. Education Ijiri attended Nara High School of Commerce, during which he took a test that allowed him to take the CPA exam without a degree. Grading in education is the process of applying standardized measurements for varying levels of achievements in a course.
