Albanian ( endonym: or ) is an Indo-European language and an independent branch of that family of languages. Besim Ömer Akalın
Besim Ömer Akalın (1 July 1862, in Istanbul – 19 March 1940 in Ankara, Turkey), was a Turkish social democratic politician and physician who established modern obstetrics and gynaecology in Turkey and was the director of the Turkish Red Crescent society. He first emphasized in Turkey the fact that nursing was a separate discipline and should be taught in a specialized program. Between 1935 and 1940, he served as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. His image was depicted on a former Turkish postcard stamp. Besim Fagu (10 March 1925 – 1 January 1999) was an Albanian association football, football player who played for 17 Nentori Tiranë and Partizani Tirana where he won seven Albanian Superliga, National Championships. Besim Üstünel (1927 – June 2, 2015) was an academic in economics, politician and former Minister of Finance of Turkey. Family life and early years Besim Üstünel was born to Emin Üstünel and his wife Zekiye in Gaziantep, Southeastern Turkey in 1927. Besim Bokshi
Besim Bokshi (12 November 1930 – 16 August 2014) was an Albanian poet, linguist and philologist. He served as the president of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo during 2008-2011. Career Besim Bokshi was born in Gjakova, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. His family moved to Albania when he was a child and he finished elementary education in a school in Dukat, a village near Vlorë. A few years later he studied in Tirana. In 1945, he returned to Gjakova and studied at the Catedra of Albanology of the University of Belgrade until 1959, followed by post-graduate studies on linguistics still in Belgrade. During 1961-63, he taught Albanian language in the Gjakova High School, being also its director. Besim Sahatçiu (; 2 October 193520 October 2005) was a Kosovo-Albanian director of theatre and film. Biography After finishing gymnasium in Pejë, Sahatçiu studied literature at the University of Belgrade. Following the interruption of his studies due to compulsory military service, he worked as a translator for the publisher, ''Rilindja''. He later studied at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, Croatia, and defended his thesis with staging Gogol's satirical play, ''The Government Inspector'', at People's Provincial Theatre in Pristina. Sahatçiu's ethnographic film, ''117'', won the Grand Prix at the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival in 1978. Besim Kabashi (February 27, 1976 – December 4, 2011) was a Kosovar-German kickboxer who competed in the light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He began his training in Germany after emigrating from Kosovo and initially competed as a -79 kg/174 lb fighter before moving up through the weight classes until eventually reaching heavyweight.
