Bertie (TV Series)
''Bertie'' is a four-part miniseries documenting the life of former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, which began airing on Irish television channel RTÉ One on 3 November 2008. Featuring interviews interwoven with archive footage, the series examined how he led the country and what drove him through his political career. Synopsis The series featured contributions from more than 70 people directly linked with Ahern, including family members, schoolfriends and national and international politicians. A central aspect of the programme was a "marathon" interview with Ahern. This interview was conducted shortly after he resigned as Taoiseach and leader of the Fianna Fáil political party in May 2008. An interview with Tony Blair and contributions from former Cabinet colleagues Charlie McCreevy and Mary O'Rourke were included. Brian Bernard Cowen (born 10 January 1960) is an Irish former politician who served as Taoiseach and Leader of Fianna Fáil from 2008 to 2011. Royston Brady
Royston Mathew Brady (born 24 August 1972) is an Irish businessman and former politician, who was Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ireland between 2003 and 2004. Once considered a protege of Bertie Ahern, Brady fell foul of the Fianna Fáil party in the mid-2000s and drifted out of Irish politics. Patrick Aloysius Duffy (19 July 1933 – 19 August 1995), known as Paddy Duffy, was an Irish nationalist politician. Christopher Joseph Wall (23 December 1942 – 28 December 2021) was an associate of former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. He served as Ahern's election agent at the 2007 general election, and after the election he was nominated by the Taoiseach to serve as a Senator for the final weeks of the 22nd Seanad. Joe Burke (accordionist)
Joe Burke (11 April 1939 – 20 February 2021) was an Irish musician. He was noted for being a pre-eminent button accordion player, recording and performing traditional music for over half a century. Early life Burke was born in Kilnadeema, south of Loughrea in east County Galway, on 11 April 1939. He started playing traditional at age four, and bought his first accordion in the 1950s. He won the All-Ireland Senior Accordion Championship in Thurles in 1959 and again in Boyle the following year. Noel Ahern (born 28 December 1944) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North-West constituency from 1992 to 2011.
