Jonathon David Berti (born January 22, 1990) is an American professional baseball utility player for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played for the Toronto Blue Jays. Career Amateur Berti attended Troy High School in Troy, Michigan, where he played for the school's baseball team. The Oakland Athletics selected Berti in the 36th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign. Berti enrolled at Bowling Green State University, where he played college baseball for the Bowling Green Falcons baseball team. Berti set Falcons' single-season records with a .423 batting average, 93 hits, and tied the single-season record with six triples. His 17 career triples were also a record. Nicola Berti (; born 14 April 1967) is an Italian former footballer, who played as a midfielder. Berti's career spanned three decades, during which he played for several clubs: after beginning his career with Parma, he played with Fiorentina, and in particular Inter Milan, where he became an important figure in the club's midfield, winning a Serie A title and three UEFA Cups. Antonio Berti (sculptor)
Antonio Berti (24 August 1904 – 1990) was an Italian sculptor and medalist. He taught at the Accademia di San Luca and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Career Berti was born into a family of farmers and shepherds in San Piero a Sieve, Italy. He showed an interest in art at an early age and at age seventeen he found work at Richard-Ginori where he could devote himself to the design of porcelain products. The writer Ugo Ojetti, had the opportunity to see some of Berti's works in clay, and advised his father Angiolo to enroll him at the Santa Croce Institute of Art in Florence. Antonio Berti (painter)
Antonio Berti ( Faenza, September 20, 1830 – Faenza, July 14, 1912) was an Italian painter, mainly portraits, landscapes, and romantic scenes. Life and career The son of Giacinto Berti, Antonio was born in Faenza on 20 September. 1830. As a boy and a young man, he studied in the local school of design and painting with the engraver Giuseppe Marri (1788–1852), architect Pietro Tomba (1774–1846), and painter Achille Farina. With the help of local patrons, in 1852 he traveled to Florence for five years to study at the Academy of Fine Arts under Ciseri, Pollastrini, and Ussi. He was a minor collaborator in the completion of the Ussi's large canvas of ''The Expulsion of the Duke of Athens''. He returned to Faenza, and in 1864 became a teacher at the Scuola Comunale di Disegno, which he transformed into a School of Arts and Crafts. In 1906, he was named director. Gasparo Berti ( 1600–1643) was an Italian mathematician, astronomer and physicist. He was probably born in Mantua and spent most of his life in Rome. He is most famous today for his experiment in which he unknowingly created the first working barometer. Though he was best known for his work in mathematics and physics, little of his work in either survives. In 1630, Giovanni Battista Baliani sent a letter to Galileo Galilei after he noticed that his siphon could not raise water more than about 10 m (34 feet). Galileo proposed that a vacuum held the water up and that it could not hold any more. At the time the existence of vacuums was controversial. Upon reading Galileo's theory in his ''Discorsi'', Berti and another man named Raffaele Magiotti devised an experiment to test the existence of a vacuum.
