Bert And Ernie
Bert and Ernie are two List of Sesame Street Muppets, Muppet characters who appear together in numerous skits on the PBS/HBO children's television show ''Sesame Street''. Ernie acts the role of the naivety, naïve and exuberant troublemaker, while Bert is the world-weary foil (literature), foil. Originated by Frank Oz and Jim Henson, the characters are currently performed by puppeteers Eric Jacobson and Peter Linz. History Bert and Ernie were built by Don Sahlin from a simple design scribbled by Jim Henson, creator of ''The Muppets''. Initially, Henson performed Bert, and Oz performed Ernie. After just one day of rehearsal, they switched characters. The original idea was to show that even though two people can have totally different characteristics, they can still be good friends. "Rubber Duckie" is a song written by Jeff Moss, arranged by Joe Raposo and originally sung by Jim Henson who performed it as the Muppet character Ernie on the television program ''Sesame Street''. The song is named after Ernie's toy, a rubber duck affectionately named Rubber Duckie. The song's debut was on a ''Sesame Street'' episode which aired February 25, 1970. John Tartaglia
John Nicholas Tartaglia (; born February 16, 1978) is an American puppeteer, actor, and singer. Early life Tartaglia was born in Maple Shade Township, New Jersey, and graduated from Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, in 1996. Tartaglia joined ''Sesame Street''s puppetry team in a part-time capacity at the age of 16. Steve Whitmire
Steven Lawrence Whitmire (born September 24, 1959) is an American puppeteer, known primarily for his work on '' The Muppets'' and ''Sesame Street''. Beginning his involvement with the Muppets in 1978, Whitmire originated the roles of Rizzo the Rat, Lips, Wembley Fraggle, and Bean Bunny. He also inherited the roles of Kermit the Frog and Ernie after Jim Henson's death in 1990; he performed the characters until 2014 and 2016, respectively.
