The Berowra Creek, a Perennial stream, watercourse that is part of the Hawkesbury River, Hawkesbury-Nepean River, Nepean catchment, is located to the north of the Sydney central business district in the Hornsby Shire of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features The Berowra Creek rises near Pennant Hills, New South Wales, Pennant Hills and flows generally north northeast before reaching its confluence with the Hawkesbury River about west of Brooklyn, New South Wales, Brooklyn, and about from the Tasman Sea. The river descends over its watercourse, course. The creek is characterised by a ria, drowned river valley estuary, consisting of steeply incised gorges with surrounding plateau areas. Marramarra National Park
Marramarra National Park is a state park, protected national park that is located in the Hawkesbury River, Hawkesbury region of northwestern Sydney, New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated approximately northwest of the Sydney central business district. Description The park is bounded by the Hawkesbury River in the north; Berowra Creek in the east; and private land to the south and west. The national park may be accessed from via the Old Northern Road or from via the Galston Road through the Galston Gorge. The park is administered by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Galston Gorge
Galston Gorge is a valley located in the Berowra Valley Regional Park in Sydney, Australia. It separates Galston from Hornsby Heights, and is intersected by Galston Road and the heritage-listed Tunks Creek Bridge at the foot of the valley. Adjacent to Tunks Creek Bridge, there is a second concrete bridge that crosses Berowra Creek. The gorge itself contains many walking tracks, waterfalls and a variety of Australian flora, and is an area frequented by hikers, cyclists and rock climbers. Description Galston Gorge is a valley containing dense bushland with numerous natural features such as waterfalls and streams accessible by established walking tracks. Berowra Creek was a remote northern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The former suburb of Berowra Creek was composed of several different waterfront locations near and around the 30 km long Berowra Creek watercourse, within the Hornsby Shire Council area. Access to these waterfront locations is via boat only. The use of the name "Berowra Creek" as a suburb was discontinued in 2021, with the area being merged into the neighbouring locality of Berowra Waters. Muogamarra Nature Reserve
The Muogamarra Nature Reserve () is a protected nature reserve that is located in the Sydney region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The reserve is situated in the northern edge of Sydney and lies between the suburb of to the south, and the Hawkesbury River to the north. Features The vegetation is mainly dry sclerophyll forest and shrubs on rocky areas, as well as mangroves along the river. The reserve is closed to the public for most of the year, and opens for six weekends each year in spring, when there are prolific displays of wildflowers. At other times of the year it is available to groups such as the scouts or to schools for education or special events. During the weekends that the reserve is open to the public, volunteers provide guided walks around some of the trails. In Australia, bushland is a blanket term for land which supports remnant vegetation or land which is disturbed but still retains a predominance of the original floristics and structure. Human survival in bushland has a whole mythology evolving around it, with the stories of Aboriginal trackers and bushrangers deeply entrenched in Australian folklore. A stream is a continuous body of surface water flowing within the bed and banks of a channel.
