Bernie Hore
William Bernard Hore (2 June 1916 – 15 October 1994) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Hore, was a defender, who could also play as a ruckman. Hore came to the VFL from Rand, New South Wales. Richmond (VFL) According to evidence given by Mr J. Smith of the Richmond Football Club on 13 May 1936 to the VFL's Permit and Umpires' Committee, :: …the Richmond club had brought Hore from The Rand, and had found him work. Hore had signed the papers agreeing to play with Richmond, but was residentially encumbered to the Geelong club. 23rd/21st Battalion (Australia)
The 23rd/21st Battalion was an infantry battalion of the Australian Army. Part of the Citizen Military Force, it was formed in 1929 by the amalgamation of the 23rd and 21st Battalions due to lack of numbers in these two units.
