Berni Rodríguez
Bernardo Rodríguez Arias, nicknamed Berni Rodríguez (; born 7 June 1980) is a Spanish retired professional basketball player. He is 1.97 m (6 ft 5 ¾ in) tall. Professional career Rodríguez began his men's club career with Unicaja Macias of the Liga EBA (Spanish 4th division), the farm team of Unicaja Málaga, during the 1998–99 season. He then moved to the senior club of Unicaja Málaga of the top-level Spanish ACB League, for the 1999–00 season. In June 2012, after 13 seasons with Málaga, Rodríguez left Unicaja Malaga. The club decided to retire his number 5 jersey. A month and a half later, he signed with the Spanish League club UCAM Murcia, where he decided to play with the number 41, out of respect to his old number 5 at Málaga. In July 2016, Rodríguez announced his retirement from playing professional basketball. Unicaja Málaga
Unicaja is a Spanish savings bank based in Málaga and chartered as a caja de ahorros providing retail banking services. The banks full name is ''Monte de Piedad y Caja de Ahorros de Ronda, Cádiz, Almería, Málaga y Antequera'' after the names of all the merged entities and the mount of piety structure. It is similar to what would be called a savings and loan association in the United States, or a building society or trustee savings bank in the UK and Ireland. 2006 FIBA World Championship
The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. As a result, group rounds were conducted in four cities, with the knockout rounds being hosted by Saitama City. Spain won the tournament by beating Greece 70–47 in the championship final. Spain won all nine games they played. Spain's gold medal in this tournament was the first medal Spain had ever won in a FIBA World Championship. FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship
The FIBA U20 European Championship, previously known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under', is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament. The current champions are Spain. Starting with the 2005 B edition, a Division B tournament, which is the secondary level of the European Under-20 Basketball Championship, is also organized. The 1999 FIBA Under-19 World Championship (Portuguese: Campeonato Mundial Sub-19 da FIBA de 1999) was the 6th edition of the FIBA U19 World Championship. It was held in multiple cities in Portugal, with the later rounds held in the capital city of Lisbon, from 15 to 25 July 1999.
