Bernhardt Design (a division of the Bernhardt Furniture Company) is an American modern furniture company based in Lenoir, North Carolina. The company is known for working with a wide variety of international designers, and for their investment in programs supporting young designers and design students. The company sponsors an interdisciplinary course at the Art Center College of Design that allows students the opportunity for their designs to go into production. Bernhardt Design also sponsors ICFF Studio, a yearly scholarship program that gives young designers exposure at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. History Bernhardt Furniture Company was founded in 1889 by John M. Bernhardt. Anabela Chan
Anabela Chan is a London-based jewelry designer. Born in Hong Kong into 3 generations of film directors and cinematographers, Anabela grew up in London and Paris. She first graduated from UCL with a BSc in Architecture. She worked with Architect Lord Richard Rogers before designing prints and embroidery for Alexander McQueen and All Saints. She then returned to school and received her Master of Arts in Jewellery Design from the Royal College of Art. During her honeymoon in Sri Lanka she visited a mine and was shocked to see the working conditions. After that experience, she started to use laboratory grown synthesized and simulated gemstones. Charles Pollock (designer)
Charles Randolph Pollock (June 20, 1930 – August 20, 2013) was an industrial designer who created sleek furniture, most notably an office chair held together by a single aluminum band that became known as a Pollock Chair. This iconic chair, introduced in 1963 and still in production, became a staple of executive offices in the United States in the 1960s and can be seen, appropriately, in the period television show, ''Mad Men'', as well as institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ross Lovegrove (born 1958 in Cardiff, Wales) is a Welsh artist and industrial designer. Biography Ross Lovegrove was born in Wales in 1958.
