Bernhard-Theater Zürich
The Bernhard-Theater Zürich or Bernhard Theater is a theatre in German-speaking Switzerland situated at Sechseläutenplatz in Zürich. It is part of the building complex '' Opernhaus Zürich'' and also houses the ''Restaurant Belcanto''. The theater was founded by and named after Rudolf Bernhard in 1941. History The Bernhard-Theater is an entertainment theater that housed in its early years guest performances and productions (spoken theater and music theater), initially having an own ensemble to establish a ''new workplace for the entertainment theater in Zürich''. Rudolf Bernhard, a Swiss actor and comedian, founded at the former "Grand Café Esplanade" (built by J. Pfister Picault in 1925) the ''Rudolf-Bernhard-Theater'' which premierred on 19/20 December 1941. The ensemle performed farces and comedies in the Swiss German language. Bellevueplatz ("Bellevue Square", from the French ''bellevue'' meaning "beautiful sight") is a town square in Zürich, Switzerland built in 1856. Named after the former Grandhotel Bellevue on its north side, it is one of the nodal points for roads and public transportation in Zürich, as well as an extension of the quaysides in Zürich that were built between 1881 and 1887. Geography Bellevue is situated next to the much larger Sechseläutenplatz (Sechseläuten Square) to the south of Bellevue. Walter Andreas Müller (born 3 September 1945) is a Swiss stage and film actor starring usually in Swiss German language cinema and television and stage productions. Early life and education Born in Zürich, canton of Zürich, in Switzerland, Walter Andreas Müller lives in the municipality of Russikon. Charles Lewinsky (14 April 1946) is a Swiss screenwriter and playwright (among others ''Fascht e Familie''), as well as a writer of novels and non-fiction, born and living in Zürich. Hans Gmür (1 February 1927 – 15 April 2004) was a Swiss-German theatre author, director, composer and producer. He was born in Chur, Switzerland, and graduated from the University of Zürich. Old Botanical Garden, Zürich
The Old Botanical Garden (German: ''Alter Botanischer Garten'') is a botanical garden and arboretum in the Swiss city of Zürich. The garden is, among the neighbored '' Schanzengraben'' moat and the ''Bauschänzli'' bastion, one of the last remains of the Baroque fortifications of Zürich, that was begun in 1642. Horst Tappert (26 May 1923 â€“ 13 December 2008) was a German film and television actor best known for the role of Inspector Stephan Derrick in the television drama ''Derrick''. Biography Horst Tappert was born on 26 May 1923 in Elberfeld (now Wuppertal), Germany. His father, Julius Tappert (1892–1957), was a civil servant; his mother was Ewaldine Röll Tappert (1892–1981). Following high school and at the age of 17, Tappert was drafted into the German Army during World War II. Aged 19, he was, according to his widow against his will, transferred from the Army to the ''Waffen-SS'', where the author of the Derrick series, Herbert Reinecker, had also served. Willy Millowitsch
Willy Millowitsch (, ; 8 January 1909 – 20 September 1999) was a German stage and TV actor and the director of the ''Volkstheater Millowitsch'' in Cologne. Early life Millowitsch was born in Cologne, Rhine Province. His parents were Peter and Käthe Millowitsch and came from a long family tradition of engagement with the theater which can be traced back to 1792. It was not until 1895 however, that Millowitsch's grandfather stopped using puppets and resorted to real actors instead. Millowitsch was interested in theater at an early age and took to the stage for the first time in 1922 at just 13. He quit school without a degree to pursue his acting career full-time. At first he worked under the auspices of his father who had to give up his theater after the inflation hit.
