Bernard B. Kroenke
Bernard B. Kroenke was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography Kroenke was born on May 31, 1898, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended St. Francis Seminary (Wisconsin), St. Francis Seminary and Marquette University. During World War I, he served in the 121st Field Artillery Regiment (United States), 121st Field Artillery Regiment of the 32nd Infantry Division (United States), 32nd Infantry Division of the United States Army. Afterwards, Kroenke worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. Political career Kroenke was a member of the Assembly from 1935 to 1940. He was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. Milwaukee Railroad
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (CMStP&P), often referred to as the "Milwaukee Road" , was a Class I railroad that operated in the Midwest and Northwest of the United States from 1847 until 1986. The company experienced financial difficulty through the 1970s and 1980s, including bankruptcy in 1977 (though it filed for bankruptcy twice in 1925 and 1935, respectively). In 1980, it abandoned its Pacific Extension, which included track in the states of Montana, Idaho, and Washington. The remaining system was merged into the Soo Line Railroad , a subsidiary of Canadian Pacific Railway , on January 1, 1986. Much of its historical trackage remains in use by other railroads. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. 32nd Infantry Division (United States)
The United States 32nd Infantry Division was formed from Army National Guard units from Wisconsin and Michigan and fought primarily during World War I and World War II. With roots as the Iron Brigade in the American Civil War, the division's ancestral units came to be referred to as the ''Iron Jaw Division''. During tough combat in France in World War I, it soon acquired from the French the nickname ''Les Terribles'', referring to its fortitude in advancing over terrain others could not.
