Berlin–Szczecin Railway
The Berlin–Szczecin railway, also known in German language, German as the Stettiner Bahn (Stettin Railway) is a mainline railway built by the ''Berlin-Stettin Railway Company'' between the German capital of Berlin and the now Poland, Polish city of Szczecin, then part of Prussia and known as Stettin. It is one of List of the first German railways to 1870, the oldest lines in Germany, built in 1842 and 1843 and was the company's trunk line. The line was duplicated between Berlin and Angermünde in 1863 and between Angermünde and Szczecin in 1873. The line is still used by regional trains on the Berlin–Angermünde route (some to or from Stralsund) and on the Angermünde–Szczecin route as well as the long-distance trains on the entire Berlin–Szczecin line. Angermünde Station
Angermünde station is a transportation hub in the city of Angermünde in the northeast of the German state of Brandenburg. The station opened on 15 November 1842 on the Stettin Railway between Berlin and Szczecin and is the starting point of the Angermünde-Stralsund line to Stralsund, the Angermünde-Schwedt line to Schwedt and a disused branch line to Bad Freienwalde. History The station was opened on 15 November 1842 by the Berlin-Stettin Railway Company (german: Berlin-Stettiner Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, BStE) with the line from Berlin. On 15 August 1843, the extension to Szczecin (then part of Prussia and called ''Stettin'' in German) was opened. In the following years the station grew into a major junction with the opening of lines to Stralsund (1863), Schwedt (1873) and Bad Freienwalde (1877). Angermünde-Schwedt Railway
The Angermünde–Schwedt railway is a single track branch line in the district of Uckermark of the German state of Brandenburg. It connects the towns of Angermünde and Schwedt and the municipality of Pinnow to each other. Several halts on the line were abandoned in the 1990s. Today, the line is served at two-hour intervals by Regional-Express service '' RE 3'' via Eberswalde and Berlin to Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Since the timetable change in December 2014, Regionalbahn service '' RB 61'' running from Monday to Friday between Schwedt and Angermünde only are operated by NEB Betriebsgesellschaft mbH, while services continuing towards Berlin as Regional-Express service ''RE 3'' are operated by DB Regio. Both services run alternately on working days, so that there is an hourly service between Angermünde and Schwedt.
