Bergen's Electric Tramway
Bergen's Electric Tramway ( no, Bergens Elektriske Sporvei) is an organization which operates a museum tramway in Møhlenpris in Bergen, Norway. The tramway is an attempt at a revival of the Bergen Tramway, which operated from 1897–1965. The tramway is based at Bergen Technical Museum. This building has recently been awarded heritage status and a large sum of money has been spent on renovations on the roof. Although the line is currently only 300 m long, an expansion to Den Nationale Scene is under construction. Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. The municipality covers and is on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. Bergen Aquarium
Bergen Aquarium ( no, 'Akvariet i Bergen') is a public aquarium in Bergen, Norway. It is situated on the Nordnes peninsula and is one of Bergen's tourist attractions. History When it opened on 27 August 1960, it was considered to be the largest and most modern aquarium in Northern Europe. The buildings were designed by architects Hans Chr. Gaaserud and Helge Simers in 1952. Architect Ola B. Åsness was attached to the project during the construction phase. Gunnar Rollefsen designed the interior. Nordnes is a peninsula and neighbourhood in the city centre of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Vågen, Bergen, Vågen, Byfjorden (Hordaland), Byfjorden, and Puddefjorden surround the peninsula. The Akvariet i Bergen, Bergen Aquarium is located at the tip of the peninsula. The Norwegian Institute of Marine Research and Fredriksberg Fortress are also located on Nordnes. St Mary's Church, Bergen
St Mary's Church ( no, Mariakyrkja, Mariakirken) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Bryggen area in the central part of the city of Bergen. It is one of the churches for the Bergen Cathedral parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch- deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, gray stone church was built in a long church design using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 240 people. The construction of the church is believed to have started in the 1130s or 1140s and completed around 1180, making this church the oldest remaining building in the whole city of Bergen.
