Berg (Margraten)
Berg (; ) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten,''VUGA's Alfabetische Plaatsnamengids van Nederland'' (13th edition), VUGA, 1997. on the road between Maastricht and Margraten.''ANWB Topografische Atlas Nederland'', Topografische Dienst and ANWB, 2005. Berg has a population of about 150, more than 90% of which are males, and 63% of which are between 15 and 25 years old. Most of these are adolescents in a youth detention center in Huize St. Joseph. The building was originally an orphanage. Berg should not be confused with the village of the same name 3 km to the northeast. Berg has no place name signs. There is a war memorial for eleven members of the Belgian resistance and an unidentified Russian. They were held captive in Sint Joseph. Limburg (, ) is the southernmost of the twelve provinces of the Netherlands. It is bordered by Gelderland to the north and by North Brabant to its west. Eijsden-Margraten
Eijsden-Margraten (; ( li, Èèsjde-Mergraote) is a municipality situated in the very south of the Netherlands. There it is located in the southeastern part of the province of Limburg. This municipality was formed in 2011 from the former municipalities of Eijsden and Margraten, that both consisted of a number of separately situated villages. As a result, the nowadays Eijsden-Margraten municipality consists of 28 villages and townships, spread out over 15 administrative centres. As of 2011, it has a population of about 25,000. Eijsden-Margraten is one of the most southerly municipalities in the Netherlands, for in its south it is extending up to the most southerly part of the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. Berg (Valkenburg)
Berg (; ) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul, and lies about 7 km east of Maastricht. The village was first mentioned in 1139 as Berga, and means hill. Berg is located on the plateau of Margraten and used to be long to the . The St Monulphus and Gondulphus Church is a three-aisled church made out of chalk stone. It was built between 1931 and 1933. Berg was home to 314 people in 1840.
