David Berezovski
David Berezovski ( yi, דוד בערעזאָװסקי; 1896–1943) was a journalist, writer, translator and newspaper editor active in Vilnius and Grodno in the 1920s and 1930s. He is best known for being editor of the Grodno newspaper , later known as and then as , from 1924 to 1939. He was killed in The Holocaust in 1943, possibly at the Treblinka extermination camp. Biography Berezovski was born in 1896 in Meletch, Vilna Governorate, Russian Empire (now Merkinė, Lithuania). His father Nakhman was a lumber merchant who gave him a basic Jewish education; his mother was named Rivke. He then studied at a Gymnasium (school), Gymnasium in Vilnius, and he also started but never completed university studies in Germany, the Soviet Union, and at the Vilnius University, University of Vilna. Roman Anatoliyevich Berezovsky ( hy, Ռոման Բերեզովսկի; russian: Рома́н Анато́льевич Березо́вский ; born 5 August 1974) is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Berezovsky is the caretaker manager of the Armenia national team. He previously played for Zenit Saint Petersburg, Khimki and Torpedo Moscow, among other clubs. He also holds a Russian passport. Boris Abramovich Berezovsky (russian: link=no, Борис Абрамович Березовский; 23 January 1946 – 23 March 2013), also known as Platon Elenin, was a Russian business oligarch, government official, engineer and mathematician and a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Berezovsky made his fortune in Russia in the 1990s, when the country implemented privatization of state property. He profited from gaining control over assets, including the country's main television channel, Channel One. In 1997, ''Forbes'' estimated Berezovsky's wealth at US$3 billion. Denis Valentinovich Berezovsky ( ua, Денис Валентинович Березовський, russian: Дени́с Валенти́нович Березо́вский; born 15 July 1974) is a rear admiral and the Russian Black Sea Fleet deputy commander. He is also a former commander of the Ukrainian Navy. He was appointed commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Navy by Interim President Oleksandr Turchynov on 1 March 2014, after the acting commander of the Ukrainian Navy Sergei Yeliseyev defected to Russia the same day. After serving for just one day, on 2 March, he defected to the self-declared pro-Russian separatist Crimean government during the 2014 Crimean crisis. Maxim Sozontovich Berezovsky (russian: Макси́м Созо́нтович Березо́вский , uk, Максим Созонтович Березовський, translit=Maksym Sozontovych Berezovskyi; (?) — 2 April 1777) was a composer, opera singer, bassist and violinist, who studied in Italy and worked at the Saint Petersburg Court Chapel, St. Petersburg Court Chapel in the Russian Empire. He was one of the first Russian Imperial composers in the 18th century to be recognized throughout Europe and the first to compose an opera, symphony, and violin sonata. Slonimer Rebbe
Slonim is a Hasidic dynasty originating in the town of Slonim, which is now in Belarus. Today, there are two Slonimer factions. Slonim, based in Jerusalem, and the Slanim community in Bnei Brak. They are two distinct groups today, and have many differences between them. The first Rebbe of Slonim, Rabbi Avraham Weinberg (1804–1883), was the author of ''Yesod HaAvodah''. In 1873, he sent a group of his grandchildren and other Hasidim to settle in Ottoman Palestine; they set up their community in Tiberias. Almost all of the Slonimer Hasidim in Europe perished at the hands of the Nazis in the Holocaust. The present-day Slonimer community was rebuilt from the Slonimer Hasidim who had settled in Israel. Boris Vadimovich Berezovsky (russian: Борис Вадимович Березовский; born 4 January 1969) is a Russian pianist. Biography Berezovsky's original name was Elyashberg, Boris Vadimovich. His parents changed the last name to Berezovsky when he was seven years old. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Eliso Virsaladze and privately with Alexander Satz. Rabbi Sholom Noach Berezovsky ( he, שלום נח ברזובסקי; August 18, 1911 – August 8, 2000) served as Slonimer Rebbe from 1981 until his death. A prolific writer, He is widely known for his teachings which are published as a series of books entitled ''Nesivos Sholom''. Through his writings he was among the most influential of contemporary chasidic rebbes, among chasidim and non-chasidim alike. Shaul Berezovsky ( yi, שאול בערעזאָװסקי, he, שאול ברזובסקי, pl, Szaul Berezowski, 1908–1975) was a Polish and Israeli composer, pianist, and music director. He composed music for productions by many of the leading figures of the Polish Yiddish Theatre of the interwar and postwar period, including Shimon Dzigan and Israel Shumacher, Moishe Broderzon, and Ida Kamińska.
