Berezan (, , yi, בערעזאַן, ) is a city in Brovary Raion, Kyiv Oblast (region) of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Berezan urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: . There is an important railway junction in the city. By rail, the distance to Kiev is 65 km. History Berezań was first mentioned in Kiev Voivodeship chronicles in 1616. It was part of the voivodeship as a royal city of Poland until 1667, when it passed to Russia. According to the main version, the name Berezań comes from the name of the Berezanka river that runs near the city. Similar to another river that is also close to the town of Cuchoberezica. These rivers are named after natural conditions. On the banks of the river Beraznka there are birch forests (Brzozy in Ukrainian: Bereza). At Suchoberezice - dry shores. Berezan Island
Berezan (Cyrillic: Береза́нь; Ancient Greek: Borysthenes; former tr, Pirezin) is an island in the Black Sea at the entrance of the Dnieper-Bug Estuary, Ochakiv Raion, Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine. Located 8 kilometers from the city of Ochakov and 4 kilometers from the resort village of Rybakovka. It is often being confused with the artificial island of Pervomaisky that is located within Dnieper-Bug Estuary. The Berezan island measures approximately 900 metres in length by 320 metres in width, the height of the northern part is 3-6 metres, the southern part is 21 metres. It is separated from the mainland (to which it may have been connected long ago) by about a mile and a half of shallow water. Berezan' Runestone
The Berezan' Runestone ( X UaFv1914;47) was discovered in 1905 by Ernst von Stern, professor at Odessa, on Berezan' Island (also known as the Island of St Aitherios) where the Dnipro River meets the Black Sea. Berezan Estuary, or Berezanskyi Liman ( uk, Березанський лиман, tr, Büzülu liman), is open estuary on the northern coast of the Black Sea, western from the town Ochakiv. Jennifer Berezan
Jennifer Berezan (born January 19, 1961) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and activist. A native of Alberta, she has released ten albums, which explore themes in environmental, women's, and other justice movements. Her work spans several musical genres and often includes other artists, and large-scale multicultural events. Berezan's 1993 album, ''Borderlines'', was nominated for a NAIRD Award for independent music. Life and career Origins and musical beginnings Berezan was born in Edmonton, Alberta. When she was in second grade, a woman selling guitar lessons gave her an aptitude test and convinced Berezan's parents that she had musical ability. Her parents enrolled her in guitar lessons.
