Berekum Arsenal
Berekum Arsenal Football Club is a Ghanaian football club based in Berekum in the Bono region of Ghana, about 30 minutes drive west from Sunyani. Founded in 1995, They are currently members of the Division One League. CAF Cup In 2006, the club qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup but they were eliminated when they met Petro Atletico in the second round. They previously eliminated Diables Noirs in the first round of the tournament. Ban The club was banned from the MTN FA Cup by the GFA Disciplinary Committee. The club was banned with other 3 clubs after they failed to honor their MTN FA Cup Preliminary round of matches without seeking permit from the GFA and withdrawal alert to the FA. Berekum Municipal District
Berekum Municipal District is a former district that was located in Brong-Ahafo Region (now currently in Bono Region), Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989 when it was known as Berekum District, which was created from the former Berekum-Jaman District Council. Later it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 29 February 2008 to become Berekum Municipal District. However, on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new districts: Berekum East Municipal District (capital: Berekum) and Berekum West District (capital: Jinijini). John Paintsil (born 15 June 1981) is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who was an assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs in the South African Premier Soccer League. Bono Region
The Bono region is one of the 16 administrative regions of Ghana. It is as a result of the remainder of Brong-Ahafo region when Bono East region and Ahafo region were created. Sunyani, also known as the green city of Ghana, is the regional capital. Sunyani can pride itself as the cleanest capital city and a major conference destination. George Benneh
George Kwabena Effah Benneh (6 March 1934 – 11 February 2021) was a Ghanaian geographer, academic and university administrator who served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon from 1992 to 1996. He was a professor and later an emeritus professor of Geography and Resource Development at the same university. Between 1979 and 1981, Benneh was also the Commissioner and Minister of Lands, Natural Resources, Fuel and Power. History The districts of Ghana were re-organized in 1988/1989 in an attempt to decentralize the government and to assist in development.
