Berario is a suburb of Johannesburg, in the South African province of Gauteng. It is located in Region 4. It is located just below Northcliff Hill and close to Cresta Shopping Centre Cresta Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. History The original farm on which the area of Berario stands today, was bought by Ario Canova in 1942. Berario was named after Ario and his partner, Ber Sarnie. In the early forties Ario Canova bought a farm north of Aasvoel Kop, (Northcliff Hill), which is now Berario, for the sum of 51 000 pounds. The original Farmhouse still stands in the now Brooklands Estate, and was sold in 2010 for R7,5 million. Xhosa Language
Xhosa (, ) also isiXhosa as an endonym, is a Nguni language and one of the official languages of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Xhosa is spoken as a first language by approximately 8.2 million people and by another 11 million as a second language in South Africa, mostly in Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape and Gauteng. Northcliff Hill
Northcliff is a wealthy residential suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. The suburb is located on Northcliff Ridge which provides views to both the north and the south. Northcliff's huge homes are nestled around a steep incline of the hill, and on the foot of Northcliff borders the suburbs of Fairland, Blackheath, Cresta and Berario. Recently some streets have been secured with boom gates. Although erroneously included by Google Maps as part of Randburg, Northcliff has never been part of Randburg. South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone. Solar noon in this time zone occurs at 30° E in SAST, effectively making Pietermaritzburg at the correct solar noon point, with Johannesburg and Pretoria slightly west at 28° E and Durban slightly east at 31° E. Thus, most of South Africa's population experience true solar noon at approximately 12:00 daily. The western Northern Cape and Western Cape differ, however. Zulu Language
Zulu (), or isiZulu as an endonym, is a Southern Bantu language of the Nguni branch spoken in Southern Africa. It is the language of the Zulu people, with about 12 million native speakers, who primarily inhabit the province of KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa.
