Juliette Benzoni (30 October 1920 – 7 February 2016) was a French author and international bestseller in several genres, including historical romance, historical fiction, mystery fiction, mystery and screenplay, screenwriting. In 1998, at the age of 78, she received the National Order of Merit (France), Chevalier de l'Ordre National (National Order of Merit) from President Jacques Chirac. Known as the "Queen of History Novels" and "Daughter of Alexander Dumas", she wrote 86 books, which were translated into at least 22 languages. Girolamo Benzoni
Girolamo Benzoni (c. 1519—after 1572) was a Milanese merchant and adventurer who spent fifteen years in the New World. In 1565 he published an account of his travels, ''Historia del Mondo Nuovo'', which included vivid descriptions of Spanish cruelty to the native populations. Eleven editions of his book were published between 1565 and 1727 and its popularity contributed to an intense negative perception of Spain which would become known as the Black Legend. Life Girolamo Benzoni wrote that he came from humble origins. His Milanese family was ruined by misfortune and the continuing wars that wracked the Italian states. His father could not afford to send Benzoni to a university but instead sent him to France, Germany, Spain and other cities in Italy. Giovanni Maria Benzoni
Giovanni Maria Benzoni (28 August 1809 – 28 April 1873) was an Italian neoclassical sculptor. He was trained in Rome, where he later set up his own workshop. Benzoni designed some of his sculptures with a production line in mind using other sculptors to produce the works in order to satisfy a growing demand for people on The Grand Tour who wanted cultural mementos to take back home. Benzoni produced sculpture for the funeral monument to the Roman Catholic Cardinal Angelo Mai. Benzoni also created the white marble image of Saint Anne and the child Blessed Virgin Mary which was granted a decree of pontifical coronation in 9 September 1877 after his death by Pope Pius IX, now enshrined within the Apt Cathedral of Saint Anne. Rutilio Benzoni (1542–1613) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Recanati e Loreto (1592–1613) ''(in Latin)'' and Bishop of Loreto (1586–1592). Sylvie Benzoni-Gavage (born 1967) is a French mathematician known for her research in partial differential equations, fluid dynamics, traffic flow, shock waves, and phase transitions.
