Bentley Dean
Bentley Dean is an Australian documentarian, director, producer, cinematographer, and filmmaker. Career Dean appeared in Race Around the World in 1997. He is known for his collaborations with director Martin Butler. Dean has earned critical acclaim for his works ''Contact'' (2010), ''First Footprints'' (2013), '' Tanna'' (2015), and ''A Sense of Self'' (2016) for Four Corners profiling Liz Jackson's experience of Parkinson's disease. Race Around The World
''Race Around the World'' was an Australian travel documentary and competition series produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1997 and 1998. The series was brought to the ABC by filmmaker Michael Rubbo, and was based on the Canadian television series ''Course destination monde'' (1988–1999). Both seasons were hosted by Richard Fidler, a former member of the Doug Anthony All Stars comedy group. Premise For each series, eight "racers" were selected from video auditions from the Australian general public. The only stipulation for the video auditions was a lead in of ten seconds of black. John Safran submitted his audition with ten seconds of yellow. The successful applicants undertook a brief course in documentary film-making, before deciding on an itinerary for their journey around the world. The 6th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (generally known as AACTA Awards) are a series of awards which includes the 6th AACTA Awards Luncheon, the 6th AACTA Awards ceremony and the 6th AACTA International Awards. African-American Film Critics Association
The African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is the world's largest group of Black film critics that gives various annual awards for excellence in film and television. It was founded in 2003 in New York City. History The association was founded in 2003 by Gil L. Robertson IV and Shawn Edwards. They met in New York City after a press junket, and were both concerned with the lack of themed stories in the film industry from the African Diaspora. In several weeks, the two of them were supported by other colleagues in their plan to create an association of black film critics. They drafted the initial outline for the association while in Los Angeles.
