Bente Kvitland
Bente Kvitland (born 23 June 1974) is a Norwegian former footballer who was an Olympic champion with the Norway women's national football team. She played club football in the Toppserien for Trondheims-Ørn and Asker. Kvitland grew up in Skaugdalen, Rissa. In 1991 she began playing club football for Stadsbygd and spent three seasons with Verdal from 1995 until 1997. She played for Trondheims-Ørn from 1999 until 2004, winning the Toppserien and the Norwegian Women's Cup on three occasions each. After winning another Cup with Asker in 2005, Kvitland retired from football to focus on her employment as a prison officer ( no, fengselsbetjent) in Oslo. In October 1999 Kvitland made her senior national team debut—a 4–0 win in Portugal—but she had not been selected for Norway's 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup squad. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Carrow Road
Carrow Road is an association football stadium located in Norwich, Norfolk, England, and is the home of EFL Championship side Norwich City. The stadium is located toward the east of the city, near Norwich railway station and the River Wensum. Norwich City FC originally played at Newmarket Road before moving to The Nest. When The Nest was deemed inadequate for the size of crowds it was attracting, the Carrow Road ground, named after the road on which it is located, was purpose-built by Norwich City in just 82 days and opened on 31 August 1935. The England women's national football team, also known as the Lionesses, have been governed by the Football Association (FA) since 1993, having been previously administered by the Women's Football Association (WFA).
