Bensonhurst, Brooklyn
Bensonhurst is a residential neighborhood in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The neighborhood is bordered on the northwest by 14th Avenue, on the northeast by 60th Street, on the southeast by Avenue P and 22nd Avenue (Bay Parkway) and on the southwest by 86th Street. It is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Dyker Heights to the northwest, Borough Park and Mapleton to the northeast, Bath Beach to the southwest, and Gravesend to the southeast. Bensonhurst contains several major ethnic enclaves. Traditionally, it is known as a Little Italy of Brooklyn due to its once large Italian-American population. Bensonhurst today has the largest population of residents born in China and Hong Kong of any neighborhood in New York City and is now home to Brooklyn's second Chinatown. Gravesend, Brooklyn
Gravesend is a neighborhood in the south-central section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, on the southwestern edge of Long Island in the U.S. state of New York. It is bounded by the Belt Parkway to the south, Bay Parkway to the west, Avenue P to the north, and Ocean Parkway to the east. Gravesend was one of the original towns in the Dutch colony of New Netherland. After the English took over, it was one of the six original towns of Kings County in colonial New York. Gravesend was the only English chartered town in what became Kings County, and is notable as being one of the first towns founded by a woman, Lady Deborah Moody. The Town of Gravesend encompassed in southern Kings County, including the entire island of Coney Island, and was annexed by the City of Brooklyn in 1894. Egbert Benson (September 1, 1789 – February 25, 1866) was an American politician and prominent landowner in Brooklyn. Early life Benson was born in New York on September 1, 1789. He was the son of Dinah (née Couwenhoven) Benson and Lieutenant Colonel Robert Benson (1739–1823), Clerk of the New York State Senate. His siblings included Robert Benson; Maria Benson, the wife of Leffert Lefferts; Jane Benson, the wife of Dr. Richard Kissam Hoffman. His uncle, and namesake, was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, Egbert Benson, a U.S. Representative who served as the Chief Judge of the United States Circuit Court for the Second Circuit. Stillwell is an American rock band formed by Q-Unique from The Arsonists and Kings Bounty, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu from Korn, and Wuv from P.O.D. The band has released three albums and one EP. They released their third studio album, ''Supernatural Miracle'', on September 18, 2020. History Stillwell formed in early 2006, quickly entering the studio, and putting out their first single, "Killing Myself to Live" in October 2007. Since then, the band has been off-and-on recording their first album, although Fieldy's involvement in Korn is thought to play a factor in the long recording process. The band released their first album, a CD/DVD package, titled ''Dirtbag in 2011''. They have released several trailers for the album, which can be seen on YouTube. The first Brooklyn Chinatown (), was originally established in the Sunset Park area of the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
