Benoît Alhoste was a French painter of the 17th century. Likely born in Marsonnas around 1620, he died in Bourg-en-Bresse in 1677. The musée de Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse contains four of his paintings, taken from that city's Convent of the Visitation. Bourg-en-Bresse (; frp, Bôrg) is the Prefectures in France, prefecture of the Ain Departments of France, department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regions of France, region in Eastern France. Located northeast of Lyon, it is the capital of the ancient Provinces of France, province of Bresse ( frp, Brêsse, links=no). In 2018, the Communes of France, commune had a population of 41,248. Geography Bourg-en-Bresse is located at the western base of the Jura Mountains, on the left bank of the Reyssouze (river), Reyssouze, a tributary of the Saône.
