Benny Frankie Cerezo
Benny Frankie Cerezo (1943 – April 15, 2013), was an accomplished lawyer, one of the seven founding members of the Puerto Rico New Progressive Party, legislator, and a political analyst. He got his law degree from the University of Puerto Rico (in 1965), pursued constitutional law at Harvard University (summers of 1977 and 1978) and got a PhD in Administrative Constitutional Right from Spain's Universidad Complutense de Madrid (in 2002). Political career Cerezo served as a member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives between 1969 and 1973. Elected in 1968 under the newly founded New Progressive Party at an early age, incoming Speaker Angel Viera Martínez appointed him to chair one of the House's two most powerful committees, the Government Affairs Committee. Cerezo came out against the Vietnam War and ended up losing his chairmanship, ending his elective career. Luis Fortuño
Luis Guillermo Fortuño Burset (born 31 October 1960) is a Puerto Rican politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States, from 2009 to 2013. Fortuño served as the first secretary of economic development and commerce of Puerto Rico (1994–1997), as the executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (1993–1994), and as the president of the Puerto Rico Hotel Development Corporation during the administration of Pedro Rosselló. Victoria Muñoz Mendoza
Victoria "Melo" Muñoz Mendoza (born December 24, 1940) is a former politician from Puerto Rico. She is the daughter of the first democratically elected governor of Puerto Rico, Luis Muñoz Marín, founder of the Popular Democratic Party and his second wife, Inés Mendoza. Muñoz Mendoza was the first woman in Puerto Rican history to seek the office of Governor of Puerto Rico. Education Muñoz attended University High School in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She went to the University of Puerto Rico, where she received a degree in Literature in 1962. Roberto Sánchez Vilella (19 February 1913 – 24 March 1997) was the governor of Puerto Rico from 1965 to 1969. WKAQ (AM)
WKAQ (580 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Currently owned by Hemisphere Media Group, the station airs a Spanish language talk radio format. Its programming is repeated on WUKQ, which broadcasts on 1420 kHz in Ponce, and WYEL which broadcasts on 600 kHz in Mayagüez. The station was the first radio station to broadcast in Puerto Rico. According to Ernesto Vigoreaux, in the early days of music in Puerto Rico, the musicians would record music ''at'' the WKAQ radio station. WKAQ is the Puerto Rico primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. Juan Manuel Garcia Passalacqua (February 22, 1937 – July 2, 2010) was a lawyer, writer and political analyst from Puerto Rico. Early years Garcia Passalacqua, who was born in the Hato Rey district of San Juan, Puerto Rico, showed interest in studying from a very young age, and he held degrees from Tufts, Tulane and Harvard universities. His father was a professor of literature at the University of Puerto Rico and his uncle was a candidate for governor for the Puerto Rican Independence Party. Severo E. Colberg Ramírez (September 16, 1924 – December 26, 1990) was a Puerto Rican politician. Pedro Juan Rosselló González, (; born April 5, 1944) is a Puerto Rican physician and politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 1993 to 2001. He was President of the New Progressive Party from 1991 to 1999 and 2003 to 2008, and served as Senator for the District of Arecibo from 2005 to 2008. His son, Ricardo was also Governor of Puerto Rico from 2017 to 2019. In 1988 Rosselló ran for Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, but lost to Jaime Fuster in the 1988 elections.
