Mehdi Bennani
Mehdi Bennani ( ar, مهدي بناني, born 25 August 1983) is a Moroccan racing driver who currently competes in the TCR Europe with Sébastien Loeb Racing. He was TCR Europe Champion in 2020 with the Belgian team Comtoyou Racing. He became the first Moroccan driver to win a world championship race organized by the FIA, after his victory in Shanghai in the WTCC. Racing career Early career Like most racing drivers, Bennani started out in karting, winning his national championship in 2001. He finished as runner-up in the European Karting Championship in the 100 ICA class. He also won the Moroccan Fiat Palio Trophy in 2001. He moved into single-seaters and was runner-up in Formula BMW Asia in 2004. Abdelaziz Bennani
General Abdelaziz Bennani ( ar, عبد العزيز بناني – b. 28 September 1935, Taza, d. 20 May 2015, Rabat) was a senior Moroccan Army officer who was, between 27 July 2004 and 13 June 2014, "General Inspector of the Armed Forces", the professional head of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, succeeding General Abdelhaq Kadiri. He was the commander of the ''Southern Zone'' since the death of General Ahmed Dlimi. On 13 June 2014 and after reports which stated that he was in poor health and following treatment in France, Bennani was replaced, as the Inspector General of the Moroccan army and commander of the southern zone, by general Bouchaib Arroub. Karim Bennani ( ar, كريم بناني; 2 January 1936 – 3 January 2023) was a Moroccan painter. Biography Bennani was born in Fez on 2 January 1936. He initially pursued commercial studies before leaving in 1951 to attend the Académie des arts de Fès. In 1954, he enrolled in the Beaux-Arts de Paris and also studied at the Académie Julian. In 1957, he exhibited his works at the Galerie du Bac in Paris and was invited to the Biennale d'Alexandrie. In 1967, he exhibited at the Galerie Charpentier in Paris. Aziza Bennani (born 1943), is a Moroccan academic and politician. Life Born in Rabat, Bennani studied at Mohammed V University in Rabat. After an undergraduate degree in Spanish language and literature, she gained a PhD with a dissertation on Pedro Antonio de Alarcón. She also gained a doctorate from Paris X Nanterre with a thesis on Carlos Fuentes. She was head of the Department of Hispanic Studies at Mohammed V University from 1974 to 1988. Hamdi Benani ( ar, حمدي بناني; 1 January 1943 – 21 September 2020) was an Algerian singer and musician. Biography Benani was born in Annaba in 1943. His uncle, , encouraged him to start singing because of the quality of his voice and interpretive ability. He won his first prize while singing at the age of 16. He first gained notoriety in 1963 with the song ''Ya Bahi El Djamel'', which drove him to pursue a career in singing and violin. He brought new life to the Malouf genre of music with the tracks ''Mahbounati'' and ''Adala Ya Adala'', which earned him great public success. This helped him be noticed by senior members of the Malouf singing community, such as Hassen El Annabi, Mohamed Tahar Fergani, and Abdelmoumène Bentobal.
