Benjamin Cronyn
Benjamin Cronyn (11 July 1802 – 21 September 1871) was the first bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Huron. Huron University College
Huron University College is a university college affiliated with the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. Huron was incorporated on 5 May 1863 and the founding institution of the University of Western Ontario. It was established in 1863 by two Anglican clergyman and is the oldest affiliated institution of the University of Western Ontario. Huron is also home to an Anglican seminary. Huron predates the establishment of the University of Western Ontario by 15 years and acted as a founding element of the larger university. Alfred Crowfoot
Alfred Henchman Crowfoot (1881–1962) was Dean of Quebec from 1927 to 1947. Crowfoot was born in Beccles on 14 September 1881, the son of William Miller Crowfoot MB, FRCS and Catherine Anne Bayly. He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He was ordained after a period of study at Wells Theological College in 1905. After a curacy in Wigan he held three incumbencies in New Brunswick: at Grand Falls, Hampton and Saint John. He was Archdeacon of Saint John from 1916 to 1927. He married Margaret Jessie Walker, the daughter of the Rev. Millidge P. Walker and his wife, Jessie Inches, on 30 June 1914. Through her mother, Margaret was a member of the Smalls of Dirnanean. Hume Blake Cronyn Jr. OC (July 18, 1911 – June 15, 2003) was a Canadian-American actor and writer. Early life Cronyn, one of five children, was born in London, Ontario, Canada. His father, Hume Blake Cronyn, Sr., was a businessman and a Member of Parliament for London (after whom the Hume Cronyn Memorial Observatory at Western University, then known as The University of Western Ontario and asteroid (12050) ''Humecronyn'' are named). Hume Blake Cronyn (August 28, 1864June 19, 1933) was a Canadian politician and lawyer. Biography Born in London, Canada West, the son of Verschoyle Cronyn (who was the son of Benjamin Cronyn) and Sophia Eliza Blake (who was the daughter of William Hume Blake), Cronyn was educated at Dr. Tassie's grammar school in Galt, Ontario and at the University of Toronto where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1889. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1889 and practised law in London. In 1907 he was appointed general manager of The Huron and Erie Mortgage Corporation. He was also a General Manager of the Canada Trust Company and a Director of the Mutual Life Assurance Company of Canada. While at the University of Toronto he enlisted in The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and served during the North-West Rebellion of 1885 and fought in the Battle of Cut Knife. Edward Blake
Dominick Edward Blake (October 13, 1833 – March 1, 1912), known as Edward Blake, was the second premier of Ontario, from 1871 to 1872 and leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 1880 to 1887.
