Benjamin Bok
Benjamin Bok (born 25 January 1995) is a Dutch chess grandmaster. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2014. Bok was born in Lelystad. He is currently attending Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he studies Finance and plays on the intercollegiate chess team. He streams regularly on Twitch. Chess career He won the FIDE Open in the 2015 London Chess Classic scoring 8 points out of 9. In 2016, he debuted for the Dutch national team at the 2016 Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2017, Bok represented the Netherlands at the 2017 European Team Championship on Crete. Chess World Cup 2019
The Chess World Cup 2019 was a 128-player single-elimination chess tournament that took place in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, from 9 September to 4 October 2019. It was won by Azerbaijani grandmaster Teimour Radjabov. He and the runner-up, Ding Liren, both qualified for the Candidates Tournament for the World Chess Championship 2020. It was the 8th edition of the Chess World Cup. Levon Aronian, the winner of the Chess World Cup 2017, advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Maxime Vachier-Lagrave on tiebreaks. Vachier-Lagrave was eliminated by Radjabov in the semi-finals, but defeated Yu Yangyi to claim 3rd place. Bidding process There was only one bid received for the combined FIDE World Cup and Olympiad events, which was done by the Yugra Chess Federation. Format The tournament was a 7-round knockout event. Alexander Igorevich Grischuk (born October 31, 1983) is a Russian chess grandmaster. Grischuk was the Russian champion in 2009. He is also a three-time world blitz chess champion (in 2006, 2012 and 2015). He has competed in five Candidates Tournaments: in 2007, 2011 (when he reached the final), 2013, 2018 and 2020. Lelystad
Lelystad () is a municipality and a city in the centre of the Netherlands, and it is the capital of the province of Flevoland. The city, built on reclaimed land, was founded in 1967 and was named after Cornelis Lely, who engineered the Afsluitdijk, making the reclamation possible. Lelystad is approximately below sea level.
