Benjamin (2018 Film)
''Benjamin'' is a 2018 British comedy-drama feature film, written and directed by Simon Amstell. It stars Colin Morgan, , Joel Fry, Jessica Raine, Jack Rowan and Anna Chancellor. The film features original music from James Righton (of the Klaxons). It tells the story of an up-and-coming filmmaker's struggle to find connection when he meets an enchanting French musician. The film was announced by Open Palm Films in 2017 and premiered at the BFI London Film Festival 2018. It was released in select UK cinemas in 2019. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Award for Best film at the 2019 Milan International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and won the Audience Award. Simon Amstell
Simon Marc Amstell (born 29 November 1979) is a British comedian, writer and director. He wrote and directed the films '' Carnage'' (2017) and ''Benjamin'' (2018). His work on television has included presenting ''Popworld'' and ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks''. Early years Amstell was born in east London in 1979, to David and Tina (née Leventhal) Amstell. He was brought up in a Jewish family, and he is the eldest of four children. He was educated at Beal High School, a state comprehensive school in Ilford. Mawaan Rizwan (born 18 August 1992) is a Pakistani-born British actor and comedian who began his career as a YouTuber. Early life Rizwan was born in Lahore, Pakistan; his mother, Shahnaz, was one of nine siblings and had starred in a number of black and white Pakistani films. Simon Andrew Hicks Mayo (born 21 September 1958) is an English radio presenter and author who worked for BBC Radio from 1982 until 2022.
