Benhazin Joseph Dahah
Benhazin Joseph Dahah (born 8 February 1969) is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Asutifi North Constituency in the Brong-Ahafo Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Early life and education He was born on 8 February 1969 in the town of Ntotroso in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Development Studies from University for Development Studies. Prior to his appointment as a member of the parliament, He worked as a Ghana Education Service teacher. Political career Dahah was first elected into parliament on 7 January 2013 after contesting and winning in the 2012 Ghanaian general elections. He was then re-elected to represent his constituency for a second term after he contested in the 2016 Ghanaian general elections. He obtained 54.98% of the valid votes cast. The election of Members of Parliament (MPs) to the 7th Parliament of the Fourth Republic was held on 7 December 2016. The Speaker is not an elected member of parliament though he/she is qualified to stand for election as such. There are a total of 275 constituencies in Ghana. 45 new constituencies were created prior to the 2012 election. The University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana, Tamale was established in 1992 by the government of Ghana with a view to accelerating the development of the then 3 Northern Regions of Ghana (the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions). The late President Jerry Rawlings, Jerry John Rawlings played a crucial role in its founding as he used his prize money from World Food Prize of $50,000 as seed money for its founding.
