Abdelkader Benali
Abdelkader Benali ( ar, عبد القادر بنعلي; born 25 November 1975 in Ighazzazen, Morocco) is a Moroccan-Dutch writer and journalist. When he was four years old, he and his family, of Berber background, migrated to The Netherlands and settled in Rotterdam, where his father worked as a butcher. When he was twenty-one his debut novel ''Bruiloft aan zee'' (Wedding by the Sea) appeared and was a huge critical and commercial success. It was translated into many languages. He received the Libris Prize for his second novel, ''De langverwachte'' ("The Long-Awaited"). In addition to novels and plays, Benali has published essays and reviews in respected newspapers and magazines including ''De Volkskrant'', ''Vrij Nederland'', ''De Groene Amsterdammer'', ''Esquire'' and ''Algemeen Dagblad''. Ahmad Benali ( ar, أحمد بن علي; born 7 February 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Italian club Bari. Born in England, he represents Libya at international level. Club career Manchester City Benali started his career in the youth team of Manchester City since joining the club at eight, and signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday. While at the Manchester City youth team, Benali was given the captaincy. On 31 August 2011, Benali was loaned out to League One club Rochdale, along with his former teammate David Ball, until 1 January 2012. Francis Vincent Benali (born 30 December 1968) is an English football coach and former professional player. As a player, he was a full back who notably spent most of his career in the Premier League with Southampton, during a sixteen-year spell he notched up a total of 373 appearances in all competitions, scoring just once. He was named as one of "Southampton's Cult Heroes," in a book by Jeremy Wilson in October 2006. He also played for Nottingham Forest on loan in 2001 and later finished his career with a two-year spell at non-league side Eastleigh. Following his retirement, Benali has coached at Southampton's academy as well as with semi-professional side Romsey Town. Ghalia Benali (born 21 December 1968) is a Tunisian singer, songwriter, writer, and graphic designer. Her music has been noted for its links to multiple genres and defining contemporary Arabic music. Houssine Benali (born 15 August 1969) is a retired Moroccan footballer who played as a midfielder. Benali began his professional career with Douai, and went on to play for Nice, but only played ten Ligue 2 matches for the club. He moved to Belgium and played for Eendracht Aalst and Roeselare. Zine El Abidine Ben Ali ( ar, زين العابدين بن علي, translit=Zayn al-'Ābidīn bin 'Alī; 3 September 1936 – 19 September 2019), commonly known as Ben Ali ( ar, بن علي) or Ezzine ( ar, الزين), was a Tunisian politician who served as the 2nd president of Tunisia from 1987 to 2011. In that year, during the Tunisian revolution, he fled to Saudi Arabia. Ben Ali was appointed Prime Minister in October 1987. He assumed the Presidency on 7 November 1987 in a bloodless coup d'état that ousted President Habib Bourguiba by declaring him incompetent. Ben Ali was subsequently reelected with enormous majorities, each time exceeding 90% of the vote; his final re-election coming on 25 October 2009.
