Ben Moore (footballer)
Ben Moore (born 4 July 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Australian Football League (AFL). Moore, a rover and half forward, started playing for Glenelg in 1995. He was selected by Richmond at pick 46 in the 1995 National Draft and made 24 appearances for the club in four seasons. Moore kicked goals with his first two kicks in AFL football, despite this being his second game (he did not get a kick on debut) In 2000 he returned to Glenelg, where he remained until 2007, captaining them in 2004 and 2005. Glenelg Football Club
Glenelg Football Club is an Australian rules football team, which plays in the South Australian National Football League. The club is known as the "Tigers" (or the "Bays"), and their home ground is ACH Group Stadium (formerly Glenelg Oval), located in the southern coastal suburb of Glenelg East, South Australia. Club history The inaugural meeting of the Glenelg Football Club was held at the Glenelg Town Hall on Wednesday 10 March 1920, to form a club for players west of South Road to play in the B Grade. It was decided that the club colors would be red, yellow and black with white knickers. The Club participated in the B Grade (Reserves) Competition in 1920 and entered the South Australian League in 1921. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Richmond's headquarters and training facilities are located at its original home ground, the Punt Road Oval, which sits adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the club's playing home since 1965. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. The VFL, aiming to become a national competition, began expanding beyond Victoria to other Australian states in the 1980s, and changed its name to the AFL in 1990. Reynella Football Club
The Reynella Football Club is an Australian rules football club first formed on 18 April 1896. Reynella first joined an organised competition in 1914, the Mid-Southern Football Association, playing in that competition until the end of 1918. In 1919, Reynella joined the Southern Football Association for the first time, but only lasted one season before returning to the Mid-Southern Association. In 1928, Reynella merged with the Morphett Vale Football Club and joined the Southern Football Association. This combination split at the end of the 1929 season and Reynella returned to the Mid-Southern Association. Reynella remained in the Mid-Southern Association, later the Glenelg District Football Association, until the end of the 1947 season. Langhorne Creek Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Langhorne Creek, South Australia that currently competes in the Great Southern Football League. The club plays its home games at Langhorne Creek Memorial Park which is located at Murray Road, Langhorne Creek.
