Ben Maltz Gallery
The Ben Maltz Gallery at the Otis College of Art and Design is an art space in Los Angeles, California. Overview It presents group and solo exhibitions in a variety of media. The main focus is showcasing contemporary art that pushes the boundaries of form and subject matter in the context of national and international programming. Serving the local art community, the public, and Otis students and faculty, it presents emerging and established Los Angeles talent as well as international artists. Originally named the Otis Gallery, the exhibition space was initially sited on the College's downtown grounds. In August 2001, the Gallery moved to Otis’ Westchester campus and was dedicated in honor of Benjamin N. Maltz (1901–1993), a local businessman and founding director of City National Bank, who was a supporter of many nonprofit art organizations. Mark Dean Veca is an American artist (born 1963) based in Altadena, California. He creates paintings, drawings and large-scale installations. Biography Mark Dean Veca was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles in 1985. Veca has exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan at institutions such as the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, PS 1 Contemporary Art Center, the Brooklyn Museum, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Travis Somerville
Travis Somerville (born 1963) is an American artist based in San Francisco, California. Known for tackling Southern racial issues, Somerville’s works incorporate collage painting and sculptural elements, as well as site-specific installations. Early life and education Somerville was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1963. His parents, both European American, were civil rights activists, his father worked as an Episcopal preacher and his mother was a schoolteacher. Somerville grew up in various cities and rural towns throughout the Southern United States. Keith Puccinelli
Keith Puccinelli (May 5, 1950 – September 18, 2017 in San Jose, California) was an American artist based in Ventura, California. He created drawings, sculptures, and interactive installations. Puccinelli received his BFA degree from San Jose State University in 1973. He opened Puccinelli Design in 1983, and enjoyed a 20-year period of national and international recognition for his work in design, illustration, and advertising. Over the past 30 years, Puccinelli has exhibited works on paper and multi-media installations in the Southern California area, and his work is included in many private collections. Samuel Goldwyn (born Szmuel Gelbfisz; yi, שמואל געלבפֿיש; August 27, 1882 (claimed) January 31, 1974), also known as Samuel Goldfish, was a Polish-born American film producer.
