Ben Lammers
Benjamin William Lammers (born November 12, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Gran Canaria of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played college basketball at Georgia Tech. College career Lammers came to Georgia Tech from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, earning All-State honors in each of his last three seasons. He chose the Yellow Jackets over Texas A&M, Miami, Marquette and Stanford. Lammers chose Georgia Tech in part for its excellence in mechanical engineering. On the court, Lammers' basketball career started slowly. He was a reserve for his first two college seasons. But as a junior, under new Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner, he became one of the most improved players of the 2016–17 season. 2017 National Invitation Tournament
The 2017 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I Teams that were not selected to participate in the 2017 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament was played on campus sites in the first three rounds (the host team being the team with the higher seeding), with the semifinals and championship game being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 14 and ended on Thursday, March 30. The NIT Selection Show aired Sunday March 12 on ESPNU. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is the name used for all of the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), located in Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia. The 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 11, 2016. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic, and ended with the Final Four in Glendale, Arizona on April 3, 2017. Practices officially began on September 30, 2016. Rule changes The only rule change for the regular season was allowing coaches to ask for timeouts in situations of inbounds on offense or defense. Coaches are still not permitted to call timeouts in live-ball situations. Joshua Paul Pastner (born September 26, 1977) is an American college basketball coach, and the current head coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men's basketball, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Pastner was a player on the 1997 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball national championship team, and an assistant coach at the University of Arizona under Lute Olson and at the Memphis Tigers men's basketball, University of Memphis under John Calipari.
