Ben Grauer
Benjamin Franklin Grauer (June 2, 1908 – May 31, 1977) was an American radio and television personality, following a career during the 1920s as a child actor in films and on Broadway. He began his career as a child in David Warfield's production of ''The Return of Peter Grimm''. Among his early credits were roles in films directed by D.W. Griffith. Grauer started in radio as an actor but soon became part of the broadcasting staff at the NBC, National Broadcasting Company. He was one of the four narrators, along with Burgess Meredith, of NBC's public affairs series ''The Big Story (1949 TV series), The Big Story'', which focused on courageous journalists. Theodora "Tedi" Thurman (born Dorothy Ruth Thurman; June 23, 1923 – September 17, 2012) was an American fashion model and actress who found fame in the 1950s as Miss Monitor on NBC's ''Monitor (NBC Radio), Monitor'', a 40-hour weekend radio show developed by Sylvester Weaver (executive), Pat Weaver. The 1939 New York World's Fair (also known as the 1939–1940 New York World's Fair) was an world's fair, international exposition at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. The National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (also known as the NBC Red Network from 1927 to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in continuous operation from 1926 through 1999. Along with the NBC Blue Network, it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States. Its major competitors were the CBS Radio, Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), founded in 1927, and the Mutual Broadcasting System, founded in 1934. Gaetano Alberto "Guy" Lombardo (June 19, 1902 – November 5, 1977) was a Canadian and American bandleader, violinist, and hydroplane racing, hydroplane racer whose unique "sweet jazz" style remained popular with audiences for nearly five decades.
