Ben Bass (American Football)
Benjamin Joseph Bass (born October 12, 1989) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. He played college football for Texas A&M. Early life Bass attended Plano West Senior High School, where he earned All-state honors. He played college football for Texas A&M. He redshirted in 2007, and was used on the defensive line and at tight end as a freshman. He missed the 2009 season due to academics. As a senior, he had 26 tackles, 2 sacks and a pass deflection. He only started three games during his college career, including two in his last season. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. Practice Squad
In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster. This is particularly important for professional gridiron football teams, which do not have formal minor league farm team affiliates to train players. Justin Green (born February 26, 1991) is a former American football cornerback. He was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and has also been a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Professional career New England Patriots Green signed with the New England Patriots on July 21, 2013. He was waived on August 31 for final roster cuts, but signed to the practice squad the following day. He was promoted to the active roster on November 23. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. Tyrone Crawford (born November 22, 1989) is a Canadian former professional defensive end in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He was selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Boise State University.
