Tigers Jaw is an American rock band from Scranton, Pennsylvania, formed in 2005. Their first album, ''Belongs to the Dead'', was released in 2006. They released a 7-inch single, "Spirit Desire", in 2009, on Tiny Engines. They released two more albums before announcing a hiatus in March 2013; however, their record label Run for Cover Records announced in August 2013 that the band's breakup was not official. Their fourth album, '' Charmer'', came out in June 2014, and their fifth, ''Spin'', in 2017. History Early years and ''Tigers Jaw'' (2006–2012) The band's name is a reference to a song by lo-fi band The Microphones. They also have a number of songs whose titles reference songs by the band. Yellowcard is an American Rock music, rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997 and was based in Los Angeles beginning in 2000. New Found Glory (formerly A New Found Glory) is an American rock band from Coral Springs, Florida, formed in 1997. Somos (band)
Somos is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. History Somos began in July 2012 when they self-released a demo titled ''Demo 2012''. On March 25, 2014, Somos released their first full-length album titled ''Temple of Plenty'' via Tiny Engines. On November 4, 2014, Somos released a split with fellow emo band Sorority Noise via Bad Timing Records. On February 24, 2015, Somos and Have Mercy released a split via No Sleep Records. On November 30, 2015, Somos announced they have signed to Hopeless Records with plans to release their sophomore full-length album sometime in 2016. The Somos sophomore release First Day Back took place February 19, 2016. On December 29, 2016, Somos announced via their Instagram that they would be taking an indefinite break but promised fans that it was not a permanent end to the band. Lemuria was an American rock band formed in 2004 and originally based in Buffalo, New York. After a series of singles and EPs, Lemuria released albums between 2007 and 2017, and toured both the U.S. and internationally. ''Dads'' was an American indie rock band from Piscataway, New Jersey, composed of guitarist/vocalist Scott Scharinger and drummer/vocalist John Bradley. The band relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2014. In 2020, Vulture named their song "Shit Twins" as one of the 100 greatest emo songs of all time. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats. Cloud Rap
Cloud rap is a subgenre of Southern rap and trap music that has several sonic characteristics of lo-fi in its hazy, dreamlike and relaxed sound. Many music experts credit rapper Lil B and producer Clams Casino as the early pioneers of this style. The term "cloud rap" is related to its internet birth and its ethereal style. Origins Cloud rap initially came out of Atlanta, Houston, and Memphis during the late 2000s. The term "cloud rap" is popularly used in reference to lo-fi, hazy rap.
