Bellfield is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 9 km north-east from Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Bellfield recorded a population of 1,996 at the 2021 census. Geography and description Bellfield is bounded in the west by the Darebin Creek, in the north by Bell Street, in the east by Waterdale Road and in the south by Banksia Street. Bellfield is primarily residential but includes the Banyule Waste Recovery Centre on Waterdale Road and sporting fields in Ford Park and Liberty Park Reserve on Banksia Street, towards Darebin Creek. Facilities Bellfield Cricket Club has represented the suburb in the Heidelberg District Cricket Association since 1934 and is based at Ford Park. Electoral District Of Ivanhoe (Victoria)
The electoral district of Ivanhoe is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and includes the suburbs of Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Heidelberg West, Bellfield, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Eaglemont, Rosanna, Viewbank, Yallambie and Macleod. Formed in 1945 the seat had usually been fairly safe for the Liberal Party having only been won by Labor at its 1952 and 1982 landslides before the 1990s. However a redistribution prior to the 1992 election made the seat notionally Labor. Liberal candidate Vin Heffernan was able to win at that election, only to be one of just three sitting Liberals defeated at the 1996 election. City Of Heidelberg
The City of Heidelberg was a local government area about northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of , and existed from 1840 until 1994. History Heidelberg was first incorporated as a trust in 1840, making it one of the earliest local government formations in Australia. On 12 October 1860, it became a road district, administered by a Roads Board. It became a shire on 27 January 1871, and was proclaimed a city on 11 April 1934. Darebin Creek
Darebin Creek is a creek that runs through the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is the main watercourse of the Darebin Valley and a major tributary of the Yarra River. For tens of thousands of years it was used as a food and tool source sustainably by the Wurundjeri people, Indigenous Australians of the Kulin nation alliance, who spoke variations of the Woiwurrung language group. The creek rises on the northern urban fringe of Melbourne north of the suburb of Epping, following a general southerly route and meeting the Yarra at Alphington. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). It had a response rate of 96.1%, up from the 95.1% at the 2016 census. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as 25,422,788, an increase of 8.6 per cent or 2,020,896 people over the previous 2016 census. Results from the 2021 census were released to the public on 28 June 2022 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics website. A small amount of additional 2021 census data was released in October 2022 and in 2023. Australia's next census is scheduled to take place in 2026. City Of Banyule
The City of Banyule is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was created under the Local Government Act 1989 and established in 1994 as an amalgamation of former councils. It has an area of and lies between 7 and 21 km from central Melbourne. In 1994 it had a population of 116,000. In June 2018 Banyule had a population of 130,237. The Yarra River runs along the City's southern border while its western border is defined by Darebin Creek. The City moved their main offices from Ivanhoe to Greensborough in 2017.
