Bellevue Park, Wrexham
Bellevue Park ( cy, Parc Bellevue), historically known as the Parciau, is an Edwardian park located in the city of Wrexham in northeastern Wales. Built to commemorate the jubilee year of the incorporation of the town, it is best known for the natural amphitheatre in its southeastern area, which holds regular concerts and live music performances during the summer months. Geography The park is located in the centre of Wrexham. It is bordered by Bradley Road on the west, Ruthin Road on the south, Tenters Square on the east/northeast and Bellevue Road on the northwest. Regeneration During the 1970s Bellevue Park was neglected and many of the amenities were in a poor state of repair. A major project was undertaken to refurbish the park back to its original splendour. This was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Urban Parks Project, Welsh Development Agency, and the European Regional Development Fund. The park reopened in June 2000. The Bellevue Park Railway, which closed in 1950, operated in Bellevue, Belfast. History Bellevue Park was a popular recreational facility between the two world wars, providing gardens, ponds, amusements, refreshments, a zoo, and a gauge miniature railway for the entertainment of visitors. The Bellevue Park Railway, which received a new locomotive and carriages in 1933 from Blackpool, closed in 1950. Bellevue Park, is a neighborhood in East Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is known as Pennsylvania’s first fully planned residential community. Bellevue Park is characterized by winding lanes, wooded topography, underground utilities and period street lighting. Impressive mansions and open preserves are protected by stringent covenants. History Bellevue Park was acquired in 1907 by the Union Real Estate Investment Company (consisting of Herman P. Bellevue Park was the name of a stadium used for football games in what is today Green Bay, Wisconsin. The park was just east of the Hagemeister Brewery, which was renamed the "Bellevue Products Co." during Prohibition, and was located just east of Baird Creek along Main Street in the village of Preble, Wisconsin. A minor league baseball park, it was the home of the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League in 1923 and 1924.
