In the co-main event, Tofiq Musayev faced off against Alexandr Shabliy in a quarterfinal match. After the main event bout, Henderson announced his retirement from professional mixed martial arts. A bantamweight bout between former title challenger Leandro Higo (also former LFA Bantamweight Champion) and James Gallagher was scheduled for this event. Bellator MMA (formerly Bellator Fighting Championships) is an American mixed martial arts promotion (entertainment), promotion founded in 2008 and based in Santa Monica, California, owned and operated as a subsidiary of television and media conglomerate Paramount Global. Linton Vassell (born 3 June 1983) is an English mixed martial artist, who competes in the Heavyweight division of Bellator. A professional since 2008, he has also competed for UCMMA and Cage Warriors. He is the former UCMMA Light Heavyweight Champion. As of May 10, 2022, he is #2 in the Bellator Heavyweight Rankings.
