Franz Lambert
Franz Lambert (born 11 March 1948) is a German composer and organist. He is an avid Hammond organ player; however, he is more noted in later years for playing the Wersi range of electronic organs. During his career he has released over 100 albums. Born in Heppenheim, Germany, his first notable public appearance was in 1969 in the German TV show '' Zum Blauen Bock,'' after which he received his first publishing contract. He has played for several celebrities, including Prince Charles and Helmut Schmidt. One of his works is the "FIFA Anthem", which was first played at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. It continues to be played at all FIFA-organized games and tournaments when the teams enter the pitch. Franz Lambert lives with his wife and two children in Heppenheim- Sonderbach, Hesse, Germany. Fahrenheit 212 is a German metal band founded in 1992 by Mirko Kerber, Patrick Lyhs and Carsten F. Hiller. After about two years, Kay Gerling Bassmann and Jean-Ray Kokoschko joined them. On March 13, 1995, their debut album Der Hexer appeared on Bacillus Records, a sub-label of Bellaphon . The follow-up Crusade of Feelings appeared on September 30, 1996 . In 2007, after a ten-year break, they released their third album, ''Neues vom Hexer''. A double album, the second CD containing instrumental versions and two remixes. Mirko Kerber left the band in spring 2008 for personal reasons and Oliver Kranz took over as lead singer. Merger (band)
Merger were an English reggae band of Jamaican/Ghanaian descent that formed in 1977 and lasted until 1980. Their name "Merger" comes from the fact that they blended reggae music with their other musical influences. Their debut album, ''Exiles Ina Babylon'' was released in the UK in 1977 at a time when many British reggae bands, such as Aswad and Steel Pulse, were popular. Politically, the band's songs addressed issues of racial injustice in Britain and other countries, but they rejected the Marcus Garvey idea that all black people should return to Africa. Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin, September 22, 1958) is an American singer, guitarist, record producer, and actress. Jett is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". He was the lead singer of the pop group Kajagoogoo beginning in 1981, before embarking on a brief solo career, garnering the 1984 hit "The NeverEnding Story", the theme song for the film of the same name. History Formation (1971–1980) The original (from February 1972) Geordie line-up included: Vic Malcolm (lead guitar), Tom Hill (bass guitar), Brian Gibson (drums) and Brian Johnson (lead vocals). Die Flippers (The Flippers) were a German Schlager group formed in 1964. They were one of the most successful Schlager groups of all time, and have been constantly recording and releasing new music since their self-titled debut album was released in 1970. They have released 45 albums, 5 of which have gone platinum, 24 gold. They have won 11 Goldene Stimmgabel awards (one of the biggest German music awards) in 1988, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004. Ganymed was an Austrian/German space disco band founded in 1977. Career In 1978, they released their biggest hit, “It Takes Me Higher”, which hit #5 on the Austrian charts for four weeks and also hit #23 on the German charts. That same year, they released their debut album ''Takes You Higher'', which ranked at #16 for 12 weeks and also spawned another single, “Saturn”. 1979 saw the release of their second album, ''Future World''. The album’s title track was released as a B-side to “Dancing in a Disco”. Hot Wax Records was a Detroit, Michigan-based record label, created by producers/songwriters Holland–Dozier–Holland (Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland) in 1968 when they left Motown. History Until 1967, Holland, Dozier, and Holland were the top composers and producers for Motown, establishing acts like the Supremes and Four Tops with many major hits in the mid-1960s.
