Bella is a Ugandan drama film directed by Matt Bish and stars Cinderella Sanyu in her debut film acting role as Bella. It also stars Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga, Matthew Nabwiso, Simon Base Kalema, Roger Mugisha, Stellah Nantumbwe, Joel Okuyo Atiku, Michael Wawuyo Jr, Bash Luks. The film premiered at Victoria Hall, Kampala Serena Hotel in October 2017. Summary Bella tells the story of a homeless girl with a great singing talent who one day crosses paths with a music promoter and her life changes for the better. Bella is played by newcomer actress Cinderella Sanyu, an experienced singer who has been singing since the early 2000s. Reception The film received numerous nominations at the Uganda Film Festival Awards in 2018 including Best Feature Film, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography among others. Matt Bish
Matt Bish (born 15 May 1975), also known as Matthew Bishanga, is a Ugandan filmmaker and the Creative Director at Bish Films. He directed the first Ugawood feature film, '' Battle of the Souls'', in 2007. Personal life and education The first of four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bishanga, Bish obtained his early education in Uganda. There, as a boy, he grew to love film, attending the cinema but also being exposed to many movies at home with his family on his father's home video system. He credits his parents with inspiring his film career. After his primary education, he attended Makerere University in Kampala, where he studied architecture, before moving to the Netherlands in 1998 and studying digital filmmaking at the SAE Institute in Amsterdam. Cinderella Sanyu
Cinderella Sanyu (professionally known as Cindy or Cindy Sanyu) is a Ugandan musician. She was one of the original members of Blu*3 which also consisted of Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru. She has performed with P-Square, Wahu, Beenie Man, Ne-Yo, Tiwa savage , Bobi Wine, Shaggy, Chameleon, Bebe Cool, Davido, Mr. G and Radio & Weasel. Early life and education Cindy was born on 28 August 1985 in Kampala, Uganda but hails from Mbale district. Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga
Abby Mukiibi Nkaaga is a Ugandan multi-award winning actor, comedian, director producer and radio personality, recognised for theatre plays, film, television and radio. He is the founder of a Afri Talent, a Ugandan drama group and veteran radio presenter at 88.8 CBS in Kampala. He has played mostly military roles in films like The Last King of Scotland (film) (Masanga), Sometimes in April (Colonel Bagosora), The Silent Army (Michel Obeke) and The Mercy of the Jungle (Major). Stellah Nantumbwe also Stella Nantumbwe commonly known as Ellah is a Ugandan actress, media personality and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Uganda 2013. Okuyo Joel Atiku Prynce is a Ugandan actor, model, photographer and lecturer at Uganda Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration (BSWSA) plus Makerere University, the Best Two Campuses in Uganda.
