Believe In Me (Duff McKagan Album)
''Believe in Me'' is Duff McKagan's first solo album, released on September 28, 1993. At its peak, the album reached #137 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and is believed to have sold about 100,000 copies worldwide. Recording ''Believe in Me'' features such notable guests as Duff's, at the time Guns N' Roses bandmates Slash, Matt Sorum, Dizzy Reed and Gilby Clarke, Skid Row members Sebastian Bach, Rob Affuso and Dave Sabo, Lenny Kravitz and Jeff Beck. The song, " You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory", from the Guns N' Roses album, ''"The Spaghetti Incident?"'', was recorded during the sessions for this album. David Michael Sabo (born September 16, 1964), nicknamed "The Snake", is an American musician best known as one of the guitarists of heavy metal band Skid Row. Biography Pre-Skid Row Sabo was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and grew up in nearby Sayreville, in the same neighborhood as childhood friend Jon Bon Jovi. His mother, Dorothy, raised him and his brothers as a single mother. Inspired by the likes of Kiss, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, as well as the Rolling Stones, Sabo began playing guitar at the age of 14 on a $40 Sears guitar his mother had purchased for his older brother years earlier. Cracked Actor (song)
"Cracked Actor" is a song by English musician David Bowie, released on his sixth studio album '' Aladdin Sane'' (1973). The track was also issued as a single in Eastern Europe by RCA Records in June that year. The song was written during Bowie's stay in Los Angeles during the American leg of the Ziggy Stardust Tour in October 1972. Co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, it was recorded in January 1973 at Trident Studios in London with his backing band the Spiders from Mars – comprising Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey. A hard rock song primarily led by guitar, the song describes an aging Hollywood star's encounter with a prostitute, featuring many allusions to sex and drugs. Bowie performed the song frequently. West Arkeen
Aaron West Arkeen (June 18, 1960 – May 30, 1997) was an American musician best known for co-writing several Guns N' Roses songs. He died in Los Angeles of a drug overdose. Early life Aaron West Arkeen was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France and grew up in San Diego, California. He was the son of Morris Arkeen, a retired U. S. Army Master Sergeant. As an infant, he suffered from craniosynostosis, a birth defect in which the skull grows irregularly, often constricting brain growth. The condition required surgery that left an ear-to-ear scar over the crown of Arkeen's head. After his parents divorced in 1963 he was raised by his father with his older brother, Abe, in San Diego, California. Jetboy is an American, San Francisco-based, hard rock band, founded in 1983 by guitarists Billy Rowe and Fernie Rod. Jetboy got the attention of music fans and record executives alike in Hollywood during the mid-1980s. The band transplanted themselves to Los Angeles in 1986 after signing a deal with Elektra Records. Their musical influences ranged from punk rock to rock 'n' roll to blues. Their 1988 debut album ''Feel the Shake'' peaked at 135 on ''Billboard'' 200. After parting ways with original bass player Todd Crew in mid-1987, the band was joined by former Hanoi Rocks member Sami Yaffa. ''"The Spaghetti Incident?"'' is the fifth studio album by the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. The album is composed of covers of older punk rock, hard rock, and other songs. ''"The Spaghetti Incident?"'' is the only studio album to feature rhythm guitarist Gilby Clarke, who replaced original Guns N' Roses member Izzy Stradlin during the band's ''Use Your Illusion'' tour in 1991, as well as the last album to feature guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Matt Sorum, following their departures in 1996 and 1997, respectively.
