Belica, Međimurje County
Belica ( hu, Belica, earlier ''Belicza'') is a village and municipality in Međimurje County, the northernmost county of Croatia. The municipality seat is in the village of Belica, located around 5 kilometres east of Čakovec, the largest city of Međimurje County. According to the 2011 census, the Belica municipality had a total population of 3,176 living in the two villages that the municipality consists of: *Belica (population 2,278) *Gardinovec (population 898) A total of 3,134 people living in the municipality (or 98.68 percent) identified themselves as Croats during the 2011 census. Belica () is a small settlement east of the town of Polhov Gradec in the Municipality of Dobrova–Polhov Gradec in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It lies on the left bank of the Gradaščica River on the road from Ljubljana to Polhov Gradec, bounded by Rabidovš Hill (520 m) to the north and Črtež Hill (480 m) to the northwest. Name The name ''Belica'' literally means 'white (creek)'. Belica was first mentioned in written sources in 1303 under the German name ''Weissempach'' (literally, 'white creek'), and in 1436 with the Slovene name represented as ''Welcz'', among other spellings of the name. Belica (Makedonski Brod)
Belica ( mk, Белица) is a small village located in the region of Porece in the municipality of Makedonski Brod. It used to be part of the former municipality of Samokov. It is situated at the foot of the Jakupica mountain range at an altitude of around 600 meters. Near the village are the sources of the Beleshnica river, one of the largest tributaries of the Treska river, which in turn flows into Lake Kozjak several kilometers downstream from their confluence. In the surrounding mountains three cave systems can be found: those of Momichak, Laparnica and Gulubarnica. Name Concerning the name Belica, there exist two theories: One states that the name is derived from the clear white water of the Beleshnica river which springs near the village center. Belica ( mk, Белица) is a village in the municipality of Kičevo, North Macedonia. It used to be part of the former Drugovo Municipality. Geography The village is located in the area of Kopacka region, in the southern part of the territory of the Municipality of Kičevo, on the south side of the Kičevo Valley, whose area rises on the eastern slope of Ilinska Mountain and touches the area of the Municipality of Debarca. The village is hilly, at an altitude of 760 meters. It is 21 kilometers away from the city of Kičevo. Demographics The village is attested in the 1467/68 Ottoman tax registry (defter) for the Nahiyah of Kırçova. The village had a total of 69 houses, excluding bachelors (''mucerred''). The Soviet invasion of Poland was a military operation by the Soviet Union without a formal declaration of war. ''Leucaspius delineatus'', known as the sunbleak, belica or moderlieschen is a species of freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae. It is currently the only species included in genus ''Leucaspius'', whereas formerly others were included, which now have been moved to ''Ladigesocypris'' or ''Pseudophoxinus'' or merged with ''L. delineatus''. Description The belica is a slender fish with a tapered body which is usually from long and seldom grows larger than .
